I think this episode is gonna be the best choice for determining how people would feel for the Gundam 0079 remake. If this movie had great receptions from fans, then they can go onboard adapting the 0079 movie trilogy remake. That's what I would think they would do.

Ah yes, Doan: the Cut Lawquane (Clone deserter from Clone Wars) of Gundam, and the character who got the bad-ass, golden Zaku power-up in SD G Generations, from training with Domon and Master Asia.

Funny when I watched the ep the line about "Mobile Suit Martial Arts" stuck with me entirely because of G Gundam. So a Hyper Mode Zaku sounds like such payoff.

I was lucky that I was able to watch it off the Mecha Maniac channel before it was completely wiped out. That episode would have made viewers think that there are also changed people from the Zeon side who despise the war. Not everything is black and white.

Really appreciate the video, but I'm curious about some other news I've heard as well, I know that the IBO mobile game is happening.. but I've also heard rumors of a tie in anime as well, any truth to that?

Yes. In the article I read they stated that there will be an IBO spinoff called Uror Hunt. There will also be a mobile game to tie in.

I have already seen this movie and I have to say that if they were to remake the series with this kind of animation it would probably do quite well. However I get the feeling that if they remake the 079 it's not going to be a straight-up remake. I get a feeling that just like this has a different story more in line with the origin perspective content that a remake of the universal century series would most likely follow the events of the origin manga series which are slightly different than the original series and show a bit more of the perspective of zeon and have a little bit more character growth for most of the characters. Plus Gundam the origin also shows a lot more of certain pivotal battles rather than just short episodes with them concluding in just one or two episodes. I have a feeling that if they remake the series it will follow in the footsteps of Gundam the origin the manga series as well as taking place after the actual Gundam the origin rise of the red comet. Not a bad move though if that was what they were to try and do with a slightly different animation they might as well change a few things up

Instead of remaking the original series without the fat and using the decades of material to better structure it (just like Space Battleship Yaato 2199) they are remaking a filler episode. Insanity.

They are testing the waters. If this does well its only a matter of time until a real announcement for a UC Remake (0079,Zeta,ZZ,BC,) is put into motion. Hell if they decided to rework ZZ with a more competent story, it would be great to finally get it in the US Too.

I'm upset that they removed Ryu from the movie. I may not be black but I am tall and heavy set like Ryu so i liked him alot because you don't see to many overset males in anime and cartoons that weren't villains so I felt I could relate to Ryu to a degree

This is because it follows the Origin timeline (and animation style), which puts Operation Odessa after the Battle of Jaburo. Ryu is already dead. Sleggar also joins the crew earlier and pilots a Custom GM; as in the trilogy movie setting, the G-Fighter does not exist. Finally, the Core Fighter is fully integrated into the Gundam, which is why Amuro pilots it to the island in the movie.

There is also the origin side manga story focus around Doan's MS team and his subordinates who piloted zeon prototypes MS that fought against Fed Prototypes, and engaged in key battles of the OYW.

Not really. The art is of Origin style yes, but the story is more of a remake of the 1979 anime episode instead of the Origin manga's version of it

The episode is on youtube. Just watch it. The Cucuruz Doan movie ruined Amuro's character. Characterization-wise, story-wise, the 20minute lost episode packs a whole lot more nuance than the directionless movie.

I know its been like that since I was a kid. Its super hard to change now. I pronounce Char -Char instead of Shar. And the main characters I just remember learning from the English Dub. Also the Titans I call them Titans when its pronounced Teetans. The old saying rings true bad habits are hard to break. I will keep this in mind when I make other videos.
