While you may have experienced a very disappointing outcome near the end, the whole run was still very entertaining to watch from the perspective of someone who has never seen this variant of a firered speedrun before. Like the chat observed on many occasions, your movement tech skill was impressive during those post 1st round elite four sections and you should be proud of that. Despite me not being a speedrunner, I agree with you and see the logic of not bothering to buy a max revive to account for the possibilty of your Mewtwo dying during the Champion 2 fight; because in this high pressure circumstance going up against a world record with strict splits, you can't afford to waste time to cover for such a highly unlikely sequence of events. Anyways, I've been binge watching a few of your runs (mainly world records) over the past week or so, and I'm excited to see you redeem yourself after this heartbraking loss in your next streamed run of this category that you managed to get the world record on when I have the time to watch.

It was 1:30 in the night in Germany. I had to stand up in 5 hrs but I didn‘t care since this run was fucking A W E S O M E. But then, Tyranitar came. Holy shit. I stood up from my bed because I couldn‘t believe what just happened. My mouth was wide, wide open. This was like the worst death to a Pokémon-Speedrun. EVER. Anyway, couldn‘t sleep this night. Funny you mention card counting. Both card counting and pokemon go hand in hand. Both require memorization of strategies (basic strategy & type strategy), both require percentage plays and both have margins for wild variance (pokemon a little more tho lol). I've been saying if you play pokemon at a high level (competitive/speedrun) those skills will transition nicely into counting cards at blackjack. Make some money you nerds!

Yeah I just played X and Y again for the first time in a few years and the Pokémon’s levels shoot up way quicker. Plus the whole team exp share makes it way easier to keep a diverse team at a high level and almost 1 shot every mon.

@@JesseLegend149 Yes you're right being able to solo with a single pokemon means the game is pretty easy - noone's denying pokemon isn't easy. What Wax is saying though is putting all necessary XP on to one pokemon barely makes him the same level as the high level gym pokemon. Now, in a normal run you'd probably hit 2-3x as many trainers, but does that mean you'd only have 2-3 pokemon around GIovanni's pokemon level where he has 4-5? In recent years, the levels are too low.
