As he went through it all, he’s rightly critical if things on TV re WW2 aren’t properly researched & accurate - which this clearly is. I think it’s excellently done. Incidentally, while it took a month to train experienced fighter pilots to become gunnery instructors, the squadrons that flew into the APCs had only a week’s intensive training to be taught deflection shooting as you’ve shown. There must be some film footage somewhere of the practices! All the best.

In real life my father was the Instructor. Wondering if he would be critical of the content/animation, I showed him the video & he said “That’s more or less how it was”. So - well done! Courtesy note - with his help, I’ve added the CGS section in Wikipedia’s entry on RAF Sutton Bridge, + a link to your video. I prefer the non-Hendrix version (brilliant iconic track that it is from my school days…ah, nostalgia) & I’m sure Dad would agree - so hope the other version will remain available.

Great job! This is one of the best training videos I have seen for any flight sim. Outestanding integration of theory, practice and cinema. Keep these coming.

J0E90... This video is outstanding and well done! Please make more like this! I am continually impressed with the Il2 gaming community precisely because of community content like this! Most helpful!

@J0E90 very nice work brother. I've known these tactics in theory, but your visual examples show details I failed to comprehend. You talent in A/V most respected, Gray

Footnote - sorry, wrong information in yesterday's post - squadrons flew in to APCs for a fortnight's intensive gunnery training to be taught deflection shooting, not just a week. I re-checked with my father this morning. Rgds.

Joe: Did you do the voicing separate ? Very well done! Is the IL2 gunnery that realistic in comparison with the ww2 instruction? For me as occasional flier I found this very valuable...thanks 5/5

great, only "bad" thing: the Spitfire wasn't better than the 109 at all in turns, in a post-war interview, french pilot, Pierre Clostermann, 3rd allied ace in this war said it was a legend even if the spit was one hell of an amazing plane!
