I'm new to gunny juice and absolutely love it but I bought a 10ml and 1/2 was wasted on my floor.... I was pumping pumping pumping with nothing coming out then the top got stuck so when I pulled it off that shit came out EVERYWHERE. I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED but when I got to use the little left..... I fell in love! With that said I haven't bought another bottle since. For the money I'm scared of getting the same result with it not pumping right... I'm also on a fixed income.... none the less....... AMAZING STUFF

I've never heard of hobby lobby but googled and saw it's a craft store which answers my question that the wood on the aluminum plates are not altered in any way different than store bought wood. Amazon has a 10 pack of balsa wood that is 6x1x1", I think this would be great since it's thick enough to hold and not need a base attached. One more question, how much of a difference is there in wood vs nano cloth @@GunnysSharptalk
@GunnysSharptalk
@GunnysSharptalk Жыл бұрын
@@shane_wc wood gives a more aggressive edge. Nanocloth polishes better but you can over refine the apex easily. I have Gunny Cloth that’s a different stropping material with a PSA backing that sticks to aluminum blanks like lapping films do. You don’t need to clean them just add more compound when they stop cutting as fast as you want. They eventually wear out and you would peel and stick another one.

Just bought your .25 and .1 products to get the ultra mirror polished edge. Do you have a chart that shows the conversion to Japanese stone grits? I’d like to know what i should go up to to actually sharpen a knife. For example would 12 micron gunny juice be comparable to a 800 or 3000 Chosera? A conversion chart would be so helpful.
@GunnysSharptalk
@GunnysSharptalk 2 жыл бұрын
@@richvillacres2793 I did a video giving grit ratings according to the factory I have making them. See a 1 micron isn’t all exactly 1 micron. I have the tightest particle size specs in the industry though. So my 1 micron should have 99% of all abrasive particles no larger than 1.25 micron. And 95% of all particle sizes not below 0.75 micron. With the majority being 1 micron. Many manufacturers may have a 1 micron that has 3 micron particles and 0.1 particles. Larger causes scratches that you just removed. Too small of particles aren’t doing anything at the micron size you’re trying to work. So the video I have up about choosing micron size is the factory’s approximate.

It’s the scratch removal from your first 2 stones that’s important. Then alternate from tip to heel then back to heel to tip to remove scratches and set your scratch pattern. Basswood gives the crisper cutting edge. I now use Gunny Cloth. How deep are the scratches?

They all have the same carat weight in diamonds. The higher micron sizes have larger diamonds, but fewer of them due to them being the same carat weight. The lower the micron the higher diamond count to make the same carat weight. So the 6, 9 and 12 micron is a thinner liquid.
