Watching NOIR sometimes can be quite frustrating as a European gun enthusiast since it's like watching the kind of life you wish you could have but you just can't. That and the fact that everything is so stylish makes you die of envy as minutes go by...

Its refreshing to see someone like you. I've been a subscriber for a long time.. back before you got your NRA deal. BTW congrats on your success man. However I was wondering if you had some time out of your day to give me your insight on something. I have had my carry permit for years and the last time I renewed the instructor said that I should charge my semi-auto handgun "open handed over the top" instead of using my thumb from he rear. I understand the reasoning that he gave for why I should do it and I've noticed that everyone in your video's does this as well. My problem is that I've been shooting guns for 20 years. My muscle memory asserted itself a long time ago. Plus I have wrist issues and doing it the way I am "supposed to" is very hard for me. Plus my carry gun is a semi auto with a hammer (CS9 9mm with a shaved hammer) and I carry chambered so its really not needed. Although every time I re-certify they ride me about it. Im wondering what your thoughts are about said subject. Should I stick with what I'm good at?, or is there a real advantage to doing it the "proper" way assuming I can find the strength and train my muscle memory for it?
@creator02039 жыл бұрын
+Colion Noir Agreed. I am also a from the rear guy with finger and thumb like w33b3l. Been for 15 years. I find that my racking hand is ready faster (not having to turn to grab the pistol), and I am better aimed toward my target faster. But to each their own. Most my buddies rack over the top sans a few. I've actually had my palm pinched in the ejection port from a G19 before checking clear where you rack it a few times racking over the top. Practice practice practice....I dig your vids, I laughed so hard when the 4 Noirs were arguing in a recent vid HAH!
@darkinertia28 жыл бұрын
i used to do it that way, but now i train for stress rather than speed and using your whole hand over the top is harder to fuck up than delicately grabbing it with 2 fingers hollywood style lol but which ever way you do it is your business its your life
@ohbummer72567 жыл бұрын
+darkinertia2 i Agree 100% in reality adrenaline kicks in and your heart is racing its easy to grab it over the top with your whole hand and not with 2 fingers from the rear

I hope Glock will just copy the trigger. Also the VP9 is reasonable in price now, competing with Glock's price point. H&K has always been pricey up until now. I love your show. Thank you. My pre-gun range routine is check my range bag. Make sure I have everything, gun, ammo, mags, cleaning kit, hearing & eye protection, etc. Remember all the fundamentals & take note to work on something that I need to improve on. I remember I was so excited to head to the range & I forgot my magazines. But I asked the gun employees if I could borrow some mags from the rental wall. They were cool about it after giving me the "you're stupid" look for forgetting my mags.

My ritual is complex in that I have a long way to drive..but I have so much to prepare. Night before I clean all excess oil out of all my firearms (cuz it will tar up with regualr oil, thankfully ballistol is non petrol based and isnt much of an issue in that department) If I didnt in the days leading up to my trip already make em, I have to cast alot of round balls so Im up at 2am (or just never go to sleep) from .36 cal up to .78. as well as 12 gauge shot. Make sure I have plenty of powder, caps, flints, patches,wads,seals,bore butter,overshot cards ,over powder shotgun wads etc.. both lubicrated and cleaning solvent patches.. get everything packed up in their proper sleeves and bags. Get the carrying cases for my 9mms , THEN make breakfast.....down four cups of tea. Eat some jerky on the 50 mile trip to the range.......then once there I have to run caps through the revolvers dry to make sure theres no excess oil in the nipples. Then Im ready to shoot all day long :D of course this is nothing compared to the once home ritual where I must soak them all in hot soapy water and rapidly clean, rinse, dry them pray no quick appearing liquid rust is present in the hard to find/see spots.........then shoot the shit out of them with ballistol which not only penetrates but also deactivates the powder. Not as much a worry using substitutes that arent Pyrodex.. but true black powder eats through everything.

I spend far too long preparing. I have to unload all my guns to comply with the law (over 18 but under 21 citizens cannot vehicle carry in Georgia, so the guns must be unloaded and ammunition "not readily accessible"). So I unload and re-box ammunition (either magazines separated from guns, or ammunition boxed). I try to figure out how to fit the ammunition in my ammo boxes, case the guns, and take several trips to the car. For extra precaution, since the law is open to interpretation, I put locks on the ammo boxes and trigger lock my handguns (being a handgun owner and under 21 is rough). It's an hour and a half drive to an outdoor range. When I get there, I look like I'm spring cleaning or something, as long as it takes for me to organize. The ammo and magazines I need are often burred in my ammo tetris boxes, unlock everything, uncase guns and reapply accessories (butt pad doesn't fit in box, I only take my mosin nagant bayonet off for transport, unnecessary? yes, but the Russians never took theirs off, and sighted the guns with the bayonet on, so it's not so much an accessory, so much as a breakdown...and also cool). Then do it all over again when I go home. It pretty much takes all day. (range closes at 4 on Saturdays, 3 hours round trip, an hour to shoot, and 45 minutes prep each way. I have to preplan this, or at least know before noon Saturday, which is only day of the week I can go, because closed on Sundays, and takes way to long to prepare for after work.

The opening segment was really good. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel regarding LaSorte, being on the show. However, I was willing to be open minded and give the guy a chance. Well, a few episodes in, and I'm beginning to warm up to LaSorte. If I had to pick amongst LaSorte or Amy, on leaving the show. I would pick Amy. She's a beautiful girl, there's no doubt in that. However, not sure what she brings to show. Besides looking beautiful and being a lackadaisical side-kick. She seems to be "out of her element." My only grip with "Noir" (the show aspect). Is I wish it was 40 minutes long, opposed to being 20 minutes. Outside of that, I like the direction this show is taking. I sincerely wish plenty of success with the endeavors of the show. Well Done to the Noir Cast and Crew. Respectfully, Dr. Rick S.

Pre-range. The night before: gather ammo, load mags, bag it with extra ammo. This is for both side-arm and rifle. I only own one of each. Post-range is clean-up, inspection, oil, reassemble, return to storage, or duty status. Other than the ammo at this point, everything is already prepped for the next the next range day. Yep, keeping it simple. Yes, I invite family. My Daughters almost always show up. Co-workers are invited but, they don't show up. Mostly, My Wife, and me!

You have got to give revolvers a shot. Not a new one either. Has to be at least 1985 or older and snubs are the best. A S&W 686 snub, or 586 snub if you can find it, a Model 36 Chief's Special or a Model 10 square butt or round butt. A Model 15 snub is one of the most beautiful guns ever made. Stainless is okay if polished, but a blued (best in my opinion) or nickel. The Colt Detective Special or Diamondback (38 special version of Python) or a python snub. I grew up shooting my whole life and always hated revolvers because being born in 1981, autos were still coming up and many law enforcement officers still used revolvers. Now that autos are "the thing," revolvers have a great appeal about them. All the mobster, detective and private detective shows and movies made me fall in love and I thought I'd never like revolvers. Now, just like with music from James Brown and BB King and Curtis Mayfield and Jimmy McGriff, I never thought I'd like them, but once discovered, I don't know how I ever lived without them. That's all I carry anymore. Mostly one of my Model 36's with some speed strips for extra ammo. Try them out!being that your online last name is Noir, you've gotta check out the old Film Noir movies! They are so much better than today's movies.

Stupid Good Coffee: in the manner of a bartender who refuses the lurching drunk with slurred speech who's clearly had several too many, do these guys turn down customers whose hands shake from caffeine so much they can't hold their sidearm straight? ;-) The temptation to post security camera webshots of the faces of the anti-gun people who walk in there for a coffee and see the Eeeevil Assault Rifles lying around on the table must be almost irresistible. Probably the signs outside keep most of them away, but there must be at least a few who are drawn on by the caffeine and don't notice until it's too late. 2:43 LOLOL I almost spat out my coffee.
