Grunge was influenced by punk, hardcore punk, and even alternative rock of that era. GNR always had that essence in mind, even in other more distant styles. Music is so magnificent, so broad, that it offers us all kinds of varieties.

@@Veuxdeux666Hard to believe that was over 30 years ago I still remember the first Soundgarden song they played "Searching With My Good Eye Closed" The arena was playing random rock music when I notice what sounds like a speak and spell type toy "Here is a pig" etc. As soon as we heard "the devil says" the lights go out and Chris Cornell starts to wail. It was awesome.

Duffy punk-ish band "the Farts" were a NW band pretty sure put together in Washington but was constantly up and down those areas that would book them. Played Portland several times where I grew up and lived until age 36 maybe to get away from all the heroin and coke, which didn't work long, each visit back to Portland thoroughly corrupted me. If you don't have anything really special, heroin wins

I love both versions for different reasons. I absolutely adored Chris ,he had the most remarkable vocals. Guns puts their touch of rock to it. Both artists make it very cool. It’s kinda bittersweet cuz I think of Chris every time I hear it . At the same time, I love it, brings back great memories for me,it makes me happy and sad. Great job G n R.🤟🤟🦋💕

O timbre dele nas regiões graves e médias ainda são bons, é nos agudos que o Axl sofre. E essa é uma das músicas mais fáceis de cantar do Soundgarden. O Chris Cornell tinha ainda mais alcance de notas que o Axl, então duvido que em músicas realmente difíceis do Soundgaren como Beyond The Wheel, Jesus Christ Pose, Slaves And Bulldozers por exemplo, ele se sairia melhor do que se sai nas músicas do Guns. Mas esse cover de Black Hole Sun ficou ótimo, sem dúvidas.

Fun fact for you, in an interview in August 1989, Axl called Soundgarden one of his favorite new bands. And this is before Louder than Love came out. He was a big early fan of alternative bands. He called Faith No More the future of music in 1989. He tried to get Jane’s Addiction signed to Geffen in 1990. He had Nine Inch Nails open for GNR in 1991 and wanted NWA to do so. He wanted Nirvana to open for them in 1992. He had Soundgarden and Smashing Pumpkins open for GNR in 1992.

@@LOVEBUNNNY The Rolling Stones came out with a new album this year. Mick is 80 years-old. He sounds about the same as when he was singing in the 1960s. Axel was in his late 50s when he sang that song and he sounds like a very old man.that isn't named Mick.

It's better than the original 😂, in what universe is this better than the original, answer, none. Axl had a good voice back in the day, but he sounds like a wounded animal now. Chris, rest his soul, was a far superior singer & would blow lil Axl off the stage with ease. I recommend you listen to the original again or have your hearing tested 😂 Apologies i didn't mean to insult you. We all have our preferences, but i would, with respect, totally disagree with your comment.

Grunge não existe. A mídia inventou esse termo, porque achar que Nirvana Pearl Jam Alice in Chains é Soundgarden tocam o mesmo estilo é estupidez.

@@pauloroberto8429 Depende do ponto de vista, então isso pode abranger todos os estilos, Ramones, Sex Pistols e The Clash eram punks e não tinham tanta similaridade. Sabbath, Judas, Iron Maiden, são metal e cada qual tem sua peculiaridade. A mídia começa classificar termos que as próprias bandas por vezes renegam.

@@pablomarcus7512 Clash e Pistols foram influenciados pelo Ramones devido ao show de réveillon de 76. Mas as bandas de Seattle não influenciaram as outras, talvez depois da fama. O Alice in Chains é Hard Rock com pitada de Heavy Metal, Pearl Jam é Blues Rock, Soungarden é um pouco de Stoner e Nirvana é punk rock com rock alternativo e pop, mas talvez o termo grunge foi justamente pra vender mais e colocar tudo dentro da mesma cena.

@@pauloroberto8429 Sim concordo com você, as influências do Nirvana que digamos seja a banda master do Grunge eram Mudhoney, Killing Joke entre outras, como eu disse os críticos usam esses termos Grunge, Punk mais para diferenciar, quando eu fiz o comentário acima eu disse Hard Rock e Grunge tinham essa sintônia, apesar dos mesmos críticos e alguns dos músicos terem se estranhado por algum tempo. Muitas bandas do Grunge tinham esse lado Hard Rock e algumas do Hard Rock flertaram com o Grunge depois, vide o Kiss no Carnival Of Souls.

I like this. I love Guns N Roses and has allways done so. But i Think it would be interesting to hear If Axel Got in better physical shape. It is as he Can not get the breath sometimes. But no matter what he has still got it. 🙏🏻❤️🤟
