The piano coda cuts through well beyond the surfaces of your mind and soul and dives deeply into your core. It tears you down and brings you back up all the way as a steeple pointing to the sky.

the original bass line is amazing, one of my favorites. Carl Radle plays both bass tracks, 1st half and 2nd half, the way he does both sides are excellent in the original from 1970. theres track removal and vocal removal software that can help hear his bass better....as far as this cover looks like it was all showing off guitar and piano and just both doibg the lead melody where as the original coda the lead guitars arent playing the melody, its two separate solos from Duane Allman on slide that criss cross eachother at times.

@@JCostlowMedia I'm trying to figure out what was the name of the artist that wrote this song GNR played called "Layla"?
@JCostlowMedia4 жыл бұрын
@@A007Nick the song "Layla" is by Eric Clapton, recorded in 1970 under the band Derek And The Dominos. Eric Clapton on lead vocals and guitars, Duane Allman on lead/slide guitar, Bobby Whitlock on backup vocals and organ,Carl Radle on bass and Jim Gordon on drums and percussion. In the 2nd half the song or coda section you have use of a piano which is where the new melody starts from and made famous in the movie "Goodfellas". Alot of radio playing of Layla cut out the 2nd half. Both Jim and Bobby are playing separate piano tracks overlayed to create one main piano line that the other tracks pile onto. More slide guitar from Duane and both electric rhythm guitar and acoustic guitar from Eric. The 2nd half of the song was recorded a couple weeks after the first half and was not planned. Eric liked the idea of combining the two into one long song.

The first time someone captures an autenthic sound on live even tho it sounds different, not even Clapton played it live properly
@JCostlowMedia4 жыл бұрын
no, you are wrong, this does not capture Duane's slide tracks correctly, Duane isnt overlaying the lead melody in either of his tracks...but yes, Eric always struggled to play this whole song right..maybe because all the good parts werent him!
