This video really helped put my anxiety to rest. I just started my loc journey 2/3 weeks ago and want them really nice and thic. I only have 53 locs, but they look skinny which had me so nervous. I'm excited to see what my locs are going to do.

I seriously hate went locs play with my emotions, literally got me worrying if my locs are gonna stay skinny over time and won’t get thicker and now I’m at the phase if I should add prosthetic hair or combine some of my locs which would give it a less lookin volume and won’t cover my face as how I want it to 😩💀

CrushedStudios Mostly the scalp but it's cool if you wanna put a lil on the dreads its cool just don't put too much... Doesnt matter if you wet it first or not. As long as you moisturize it. There's no right way it's really all up to you how you wanna do it. & no problem man I'm always here to help

Today I finished my dreadlocks (full head) They are hard and I cant bend them or do anything to them, when will this be over? I would love to be able to tie them up into a bun or something ASAP. Also when they loosen up a bit? You can see all the sections on my scalp which I don't really like. When is this over? Thanks

I can bend them into a dread bun, a simple one but its getting better and better slowly.

Depends on your hair type it can be a month to a year but usually you'd be able to comfortably be able to do a bun in 3-4 months without your hair messing up so bad

Hey bro idk if you can help me but worth a shot. I'm the typical white kid with straight hair, long hair on the top that goes back, shaved around the sides and back. I don't have money to buy any wax's or anything, but want dreads really bad lol. I like XXXTentacion and Lil Uzi Vert's dreads. For the sponge method, do I need a particular sponge or just any...? What I was thinking of doing was, doing the twist and rip method or whatever, tie them up with a rubber band, then later that day take the rubber bands out, spray my hair with salt water which is supposed to help hair stick together, then I was going to rub a towel in a clock work motion for 5-10 mins before putting the rubber bands back on. A quick question is, 1. Will that work to help my dreads get started? 2. If I take the rubber bands out and rub my hair with a towel, will my hair just fall apart? Thanks!!! P.s. I have been watching a lot of dread videos but I'm still really unsure on how to start them for myself with my hair. Just a little guidance would be very helpful!!
@joshua.merrill7 жыл бұрын
You could do the sponge method, but it'd take a really long time, because with straight hair, it'll be more similar to a neglect method, which will also mean less control over the size and shape of the dreads. I did twist and rip 6 months ago, and I get so many people asking how many years I've had my dreads, because they already look pretty mature. Since you're wanting the thinner, more uniform dreads, I'd go for twist and rip or backcombing. Both of those are methods where you will section your hair first, controlling the size and location of the dreads.
