Still holding hope that you'll do a Whatever Happened To Ugly Kid Joe video. A video on UKJ's singer Whitfield Crane's failed Y2K-era alt-metal/nu metal supergroup Medication (a one-hit/one-album wonder best known for the 2002 minor rock radio hit single "Inside") would be great, also. Medication also featured members of nu metal bands Machinehead and Soulfly, along with 90's industrial metal band Skrew.

Their first work together for Audioslave was so incredible. But to me, it's like you could feel the air go out of this band with each next work. It was still great work, but the intensity and passion seemed to be going away for them as a group. It reminds me of a new relationship or lover, when all is new, fresh and amazing. Then after awhile things lose their luster.

Chris was going through a lot in the time leading to the forming of the group and all his pain was dumped into it. it's weird but artists seem to shine brightest when they can spill out their pain in their music. Ssooo, nothing about, as a part of Audioslave, Chris Cornell was doing all of the songwriting & this made Cornell feel cheated since all of the royalties for were divided up evenly, 25% to each band-member. Cornell was said to have offered a consolation prize to the three other members of Audioslave, where Cornell would receive 70% of the royalties and the other three would receive 10% each, for the songs that Cornell wrote. The other three members of the band, apparently, felt insulted by this & flatly turned it down & for Cornell that was the final straw. I heard that Cornell would later say that he felt forced out of the band, saying that he felt like they were stealing from him & had disrespected him based on how they acted like the offer was insulting, an offer that Cornell thought was more than generous. This could be just a misconstrued rumor based on innuendo & speculation; but, it definitely sounded believable.

Audioslave was the perfect name, Cornell being the audio genius, Rage being the slaves to the government.

I was there as well. I was close to the front and it was really sweltering in the auditorium that Halloween night, so it was funny when CC called out Brad for "playing eight straight songs wearing a f****** gorilla mask". Great show and I liked when they played "sleight of hand".

Apparently they have at least an album's worth of unreleased material according to Morrello. Hopefully it will see the light of day eventually. Also, Moth might be the most underrated song in their entire discography.

Extremely underrated and phenomenal band.... I was lucky enough to catch them live 7 times, and they always blew the roof off of whatever show they were in.... Lollapalooza 2004 (the last touring one), they co headlined with Jane's Addiction.... Jane's looked absolutely pedestrian compared to Audioslave (And Jane's is PHENOMENAL).

@Luke Critically they were shit talked back in the day (honestly, most music critics are idiots who are either elitists who try to flex whatever music knowledge they have... The more obscure, the better.... Or they're only interested in whatever music they personally like, and will bash everything else). AS were trashed for "not being RATM or Soundgarden enough", and ironically, for being "TOO much like RATM and Soundgarden". Yes they sold well, yes they played phenomenal live shows (and historic ones in Cuba, and on top of the Ed Sullivan marquee), but this band easily has put out some of the best music in the last 30 years, AND had 3 successful albums in a time where many other super groups struggled to put out a sophomore release. They truly should be spoken of more, rather than in the "that little side project, the Rage guys did with Cornell".

I really like Audioslave. And I'm fine that they only released 3 albums. The first album was fire. The second album was pretty good. The third album was okay. Based on that trend, a fourth album would have been released only to meet record label obligations and probably would have been crap. We were spared that. Not every band, or project, is going to last. Sometimes it's short lived, and that's okay. Audioslave called it quits at the right time and should be proud of what they released.
