Advice to everybody who wants to do this now: Please focus on form over quantity, if you can only do 15-20 perfect push-ups, split them into sets during the day. Don't do 50 crappy push-ups in a row for 2 sets and think you are progressing.

I do push-ups in sets of 10. I’m currently losing fat weight while building muscle. The ratios aren’t balanced with weight to strength yet so I find them hard. The difference is I’ll do around 30 in total but using bars to completely straighten my body and it allows full range of motion from parallel to the floor all the way up to back stretched out. Definitely making the most of the 60% body weight lift. I was guilty of doing the wrong form putting it on my shoulders. It’s amazing to think I went decades without various professionals from martial arts/ gym and circuit training and not once was I shown a real press-up! 🤦🏼♂️ it’s a great exercise during this lockdown if you have no equipment. Get that perfect plank shaped body and you can work on the hips and core at the same time.

I and my brothers held each other accountable, and now we can hit 1000 push-ups. It's painful but so worth it in the end. And I have a then vs now picture on my computer. Gunther, thank you for this video. I'm in my late 50s and the days when I went for a full workout 3-4 times a week ended in my 40s. I blame work but also myself. I need to start getting in shape for old age. Simple is best, and this video inspired me to start simple and try not to conquer my return to fitness all at once. I was also reminded by the commenter below that once you get past the tipping point, you can't NOT do pushups and exercise every day. It's addictive. Also, objectively, you look terrific! People are attracted to that wide shoulder / trim waist look and the ripples stand out more on your body type. Also, I swear you got more handsome by the end, too. Can't say it was the jaw workouts, but I think it's your increased energy and confidence that shines through and has literally changed your appearance. Cheers, mate. You're ready for your close-ups! Don't neglect your legs, either, and become "top heavy." Simple squats will take care of that, activate your core, and increase your balance without having to commit to an hour of yoga (which I also love).

@@r3do. Alright so it went like this: I did 10 pushups, rest then 10 and rest and 10 rest. I typically did stuff like this in between playing video games (because i was 14) and i would just keep doing this every-time i die or had free time. So you’re going to see a great improvement and you’ll start seeing how form and arm movements go. After you get 10 easily, try to do 20 or like i did- 10 really slow pushups! I’ve been doing 50 every night for about a week now, my arms and chest already seem more defined, it’s crazy! I’m going to do 50 for another 3 weeks then try 75 then 100. Working my way up. And during this I may also do 50, 75, 100 sit-ups/squats. It’s easier to do simple things because I don’t have equipment and can’t tell if I’m doing things right or wrong if I do other workouts that are “complicated” I suggest everyone tries this or something like it!

do you do 50 all at once or in separate sets?

I started the same journey on Aug 21 2019. I was only able to do 20 push up, then 30 sec prank, and 20 push up and 30 sec prank..... until I reached 100 push up. After 4 weeks, I was able to do 40 push up instead of 20 push up. I lost 1 inch of my waistline. My goal is to do 100 push up without break. Keep it up.

Starting from this moment, I’ll be tracking my push-ups right here. Let’s begin I suppose.
@randomfre2 жыл бұрын
Day 1 - I can do 27 push-ups, (my form broke around 20) from 23< it was very hard but I managed to push myself passed what I though was my limit (I’m going to start with 50 a day. 2 sets of 25). I’ve learned that the only push-ups that count are the ones after you feel like you can’t go anymore, so I’m going to keep that in mind for the next days and see how it goes/how I feel.
@randomfre2 жыл бұрын
Day 2 - I only did 22 (straight) this day HOWEVER, my form was much better and every push-up I did was slow and meant to strain/work my arms to the max . (Still made sure to do the 50+).
@randomfre2 жыл бұрын
Day 3 - feel asleep before I could type this, however I was able to do 25 push-ups with slow decline down and slow decline up to maximize the amount of work my arms are getting, I also made sure to finish the rest off to day 4

Day 4 -can’t really feel my arms anymore, so the push-ups that aren’t as hard as they used to be, I was able to do around 23 before it started bringing. At the end however I managed to do 28 (then I did some decline push-ups on my counter while my arms were already dead, so I would get the most work out of them)

I did a full body workout that lasted about 30 minutes for about 6 months and what I observed is that your really not going to “gain” muscle but instead your going to help your endurance and cut on fat. The physical changes that I observed is that you are going to become really shredded and defined. So the best thing to do is to mix body weight workouts with weights exercises to really so the results that are going to be noticeable to not only you but to others. Overall the most important thing with this is just to stay healthy
@GuntherDaGreat5 жыл бұрын
VERY TRUE! I've noticed the same thing!
@sponsponm15 жыл бұрын
Not true your body can't tell the difference between external weight and bodyweight resistance is resistance but if you stick to body weight you need to do harder variations of the exercise with weights just increase the weight when it gets easy and work your legs don't look top heavy
