Another game that is somewhat similar to this is Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. However, that game is a lot harder. The main gimmick of the game is that you learn skills by experimenting and can pass them on through the generations. The problem is that you're dropped in the game and literally told by the game itself "you're the Ancestors of humanity, figure out how to do stuff like they would because we ain't telling you anything". The literal only things the game tells you how to do is how to hide and how to sense stuff. You will die, ALOT, and there is permadeath. This is offset by the fact that your group has a bunch of members in it, but any skills that your Ancestor (aka the Australopithecus you currently control) that you haven't passed down to children/ learnt with another Ancestor, is permanently lost on character death and has to be relearned.
