For everyone who does uber/skip etc, set aside 10.2% of your earnings, as you will have to pay that amount towards your CPP. Eg- if you earn $1000 then save $102 for CPP. When you work for an employer, 5.1% of your earnings is automatically subtracted for CPP so you dont have to worry about setting aside anything for CPP.

2 Corrections: 1. The deadline for filing tax this year is May 1st because 30th April falls in Sunday. 2. The RRSP contribution limit for the 2023 taxation year is 18% of earned income you reported on your tax return in the previous year, up to a maximum of $30,780

Gursahib, 9:47 onwards Stocks/etfs can be bought in RRSP as well Also, in your example the capital gain was 110-110 = $10(capital gain), but only 50% of capital gains are taxed, which means the tax will be payable on $10x50%= $5. Since the tax rate is 30% , the individual will pay $5x30% = $1.5

My Agent said that Business administration is a very competitive program and there are a lot of applications which is why so much time is being taken. September is very close and things are way behind. Hoping for the best.

Hello bhai, I have 6 years of work experience in India and came as international student. To get tax benefits I need to have my world income as zero. I mean Income of 2022 and 2023 equal to zero. When I will apply for PR , I will definitely show income receipts again, Wouldn’t it affect my PR ? Because I showed my 2022 and 2023 income zero to CRA but at same time showing experience to IRCC. Did you have any income those last few days of the year? if not then not necessary but you can file with 0 income

You can file and carry forward any unused amount to next year. As a non-refundable credit, if the tuition amount is greater than the tax owed, the non-refundable credit can only be used to reduce or eliminate the student’s federal/provincial tax bill but won’t generate a refund. If you aren’t able to use the full amount of the credit, any unused credits can be carried forward to a future tax year, or transferred to a spouse/common-law partner or parent/grandparent.

@@rutvijpatel96 Canadian tax law hasn't changed so you can file income tax every year. If university gives you a 2022 tuition receipt, then you should file 2022 income tax now and have your unused amount of tuition tax credit pushed to next year.
