I was at this show. It was September 30, 1984. Earlier in the day a few friends and I were at a new mall in downtown San Diego shopping for some clothes for this show. Tom Bailey walked up some stairs and walked right by us. One of my friends Said " Do you know who that is". I said "yeah, I don't believe it". He was by himself and wearing the same outfit he is wearing here. This was about 4 or 5 hours before the show. It was a great show. San Diego in the 1980's was the greatest time. The city/area was seeing great growth and rebuilding. I miss it....

Great story, thanks for sharing. Did you speak to him? I live in San Diego now and so many things have changed not always for the best, wonder which mall it was? Funny seeing the audience being in the moment, enjoying themselves and not using their phones!

What a great accolade and tribute to the Thompson Twins. Great sound from the 80's. The more I unearth from that era, the more pleasantly surprised I am. I loved being in my teens and twenties during that time - experimental music, unique sound, many directions. Today, there's a reticence toward the raw and the romantic, substituted for the chic and the extreme, but devoid of the supple and profound.

I saw them by accident in Seattle. Level 42 bailed and the Twins filled in. I got my money back for Level and a guy outside said I have 2 free tickets so I thought what the hell. It was easily one of the best shows I have ever seen and have been a fan ever since....Awesome band.

I saw them in Salt Lake City at the U of U for this tour. When they came to Salt Lake City the opening act was Berlin. Now, I have easily seen 30+ concerts in my day ranging from and including U2, The Cure, Echo, New Order, ACDC, Howard Jones, etc etc. The show the Thompson Twins put on that night is easily in my top 3 of all time. The entire show was magical. I have often thought of that concert and am glad to see the stage set up again here. Thanks for sharing!

@@robthebeekeeper8997 Sigh....that was also back when concerts were affordable! Long before the dill holes like TicketMaster came along. haha, my first concert was Aztec Camera at the old horticulture building in SLC. Ticket price? $12.00! TWELVE DOLLARS! Crazy how expensive they've become.

Muito bom! Os anos 80 foram muito rico musicalmente, sou de 83 e cresci ouvindo boas músicas. Confesso que não conhecia Thompson Twins, conheci através do filme Black Mirror Bandersnatch, foi amor a primeira escuta! Me lembra muito Tears for Fears, Information Society, Toto, Cutting Crew entre outras maravilhosas bandas! 👏👏👏
