Please remind me never to watch the film Brokeback Mountain ever again!! it just friggin’ ripped my heart out.. stepped on it...then handed it back to me and said C’ya. The movie is an absolutely stunning work of art. A universal love story trapped in an unforgiving hateful time period. The feelings that these two men had for each other beginning in the 1960s were filled with both torture and deep love. I cried for a long while last night after the movie was over. It was definitely cathartic. The soundtrack put me in a deep meditative state. Thank you Gustavo Santaolalla for the brilliant and breathtaking soundtrack.Thank you Ang Lee for directing this exquisite film.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🎼🎼

I watched this film for the first time only few days ago, and honestly never heard for it before. This film gave me so much, and it's the greatest film I ever watched. It is about universal, pure love. This seemingly simple music is also a true masterpiece. Deep and heartbreaking, just as Brokeback Mountain. I will always be deeply thankful to Heath. He made this movie to be an art and something that can touch every soul who can love. I related to Heath in a way that I never did with any other actor. He was a warm soul, he was also a musician, chess player. Heath was an true artist that was beyond our limited world. I feel empty and very rich in the same time. Rest in peace, Heath.

This music brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. It's so hauntingly beautiful. Of course, the movie behind it is equally sublime. But there's another reason. I came out late in life and my mom was so supportive and accepting (dad had already passed away). She went to see "Brokeback Mountain" in the theater in January 2006, just weeks before she went into hospice care in February and passed away in April. This connects me to her in a special way.

Exquisite. at the very beginning of the Movie, all you hear is this one singular High A Note ring out... it rings & rings ... then ... another ... unhurried ... a bit hesitantly ....slowly & spaciously. Then the Melody begins to move and it finds accompaniment ....it then blooms & eventually crescendos into a deep & moving Heartbreak. ugh! I don't know of any other Soundtrack that mirrors the Characters in the way Gustavo composed & shaped this Song. There was minimal Dialogue throughout the entire Film & Gustavo took care NOT to fill those Spaces so brilliantly crafted & portrayed by the Actors. Genius.
