Berserk isn’t all blood and guts. IMO it’s a show case of some of the most worst case nightmare involving trauma, while also having some of the most bittersweet and warm feeling moments that all feel earned even if small.

I don't think berserk really has a message. Like it's just two men following ambition it's pretty basic. It's just they each have their own circumstances and follow their own path as a result. No one is really good or bad. They are both monsters. Wish we could've seen how he'd end it though.

This is tangential to the central message of Berserk, but this is mostly poetic irony. Guts is convinced in the truth in these words as far as Guts is concerned, but we as the reader/watcher know or atleast suspect that Griffith was talking out of his ass when philosophizing to the princess about needing a friend who is "equal" to him. Guts thinks (or tries to convince himself) that to Griffith, losing Guts is just stumbling on the road, when in actuality losing Guts, to Griffith, means losing everything.

One of the most iconic and mesmering scenes in the show. Guts saying his goodbye words to his friend along with Guts's song playing was perfectly executed. Guts knew Griffith would achieve his dream even without him, knowing his character and skills, but he could've never imagined that his absence would cost him much more than he expected. Ironically Griffith was the one who contributed to Guts's decision with his monologue in episode 10

It's heartbreaking that such tragedy and slaughter was all caused by miscommunication and misunderstanding. Had Griffith and Guts been upfront with each other with Guts wanting to be viewed as a true friend by him and Griffith admitting he already does. So much sorrow could've been avoided.

Ive suffered with alcoholism for 8 years and i had 145 days sober recently, but i relapsed and binge drank and got arrested for public intoxication, now im on probation and my po put me on a mobile breathalyzer device i have to breath into 5 times a day he told me "im going to jail for 2 months if i drink again" im at 31 days sober now. Edit 1: 136 days now Edit 2: 155 days now Edit 3: 267 days now (still free, still not locked up) Edit 4: 326

Really needed this today, got into a car accident on my way to work where it was raining and I lost control at a left curve and hit the sidewalk, thankfully there was nobody else involved in the accident other than me but the car took some damage and I took a financial hit. I've been feeling so down about it for the past day or two but Guts telling me that this is just a stone in the road really means a lot, even if it's just a fictional character.

Miura was, without exaggeration, the greatest storyteller of our time. Berserk has been with me for the majority of my life and I'm sure it has somehow helped shape my attitudes and who I am as a person. Hope that in whatever heaven or afterlife he's in that he can actually see how many people his work has touched. RIP.

Hearing Guts’ words of advice are really helping me get through my breakup. It didn’t end out of anger or hate. It just wasn’t in the cards. For some reason it hits harder, at least if it was out of anger, I can use that to fuel me but this is different. Thank you Kentaro. Even when you’re gone, you still help us strugglers.
