Guwahati is very crowded by lots of immigrants from mainland India so it has become very much like any other mainland Indian cities. If you want different experience then I recommend you the hill cities called Aizawl in Mizoram and Kohima in Nagaland. You'll see more native people in these cities. Aizawl is very peaceful and silent as people don't blow horns there. Visit someday.

Another great video guys and a bit off the beaten track. Admittedly I've never heard of Guwahati but it's always good to learn about new places. The way you guys crossed those busy roads shows how you're embracing the culture - make way, Indo Kiwis in the house. The food in Assam looks great and it's a nice touch sharing your experiences. After travelling through the South of India, I would have thought your taste buds were accustomed to the heat and spiciness of the food. Maybe you need another trip south to get some practice in.🌶🌶😊

@@NativeTravellers 1. There is the smallest river island called the Peacock island just few kilometres away from the heart of the city offshore. You can take a ferry from Uzanbazar area.. the trip is soothing if taken before sunset. 2. The Basistha temple on the outskirts of the city not very far is a very peaceful place with a small stream flowing beside the temple. 3. You could have visited the Pobitora sanctuary very near from the city. It has the densest population of Indian one horned Rhino. 4. The famous Kamakhya temple is another major shrine of India located on the Narakasur hilltop. The Kamakhya viewpoint is popular among the city dwellers. 5. Other than that there are many resorts, jungle resorts, lakes like Chandubi lake, Deepor bil,Umiam lake and many temples and shrines of different religion in and around the city. Assam is known for natural beauty so the chaotic city boundaries would not give you much outlook of this beautiful land.
