Actually the original name of Fancy Bazar is 'Fasi' Bazar. 'Fasi' means 'death by hanging', probably due to the people that were hanged in the old jail complex, the walls of which can be still found in the market. I guess 'Fasi' doesn't sound that nice for a market so it got renamed into 'Fancy' bazar. Some of the old Assamese folk still call it as 'Fasi' Bazar though. Fancy bazar is a lot of things from being a wholesale market to a flea market to street food haven. Anyways welcome Davud to the incredible North East of India and to my beautiful state Assam. Being an Indian, its my wish to explore north-east India someday. Its the least explored and the most uderrated part or India, people are nice, cities are cleaner and well organized and less chaotic, unlike northern and north central parts of India.

People who plan to visit Guwahati also visits Meghalaya as it is four hours ride from Guwahati and Meghalaya is called the Scotland of India because of it's natural beauty close to Darjeeling. The highest rainfall in the world is also recorded in Meghalaya's Mawsynram.

Shillong is the capital of Meghalaya, another state of North East, it's a wonderful hill station not less than Switzerland 😊 don't miss it since you are very close to it. Assam is one state where Millions get affected by floods during monsoon season. Indian government has become lot better in dealing with it. India have been affected by natural disasters many times every year. but since Tsunami in 2004 India have never taken any help for that from others. but whenever there is natural calamity or crisis be it Syria, Turkey, Afghanistan, South Sudan, Ukraine, Palestine etc -India is among the first to send humanitarian aid. during covid19 India sent medicines to over 150 countries, vaccines to over 100 countries and its indigenous vaccine for free to many low income countries despite India itself being a low income country.

Earlier it was nomenclate as Fasi bazaar this also has history later on it become fancy bazaar like the cuisine earlier it was malay curry because it was from that region now it was malai curry excluding some village area but in other parts of northeast even in village area you will feel that there pronounciation accent are more fluent you are understanding assamese when he ask kimn dada you replied 100😂😂
