Because some of those men refused to let it go down like that and they went and used their own money and their own connections and their own knowledge and skills needed to make it happen and bring a bunch of their terps to safety. Biden did nothing to facilitate any of it, in fact they actually made it more difficult because he wanted the missions to fail because he didn't want to be any heros to make him look that much worse. He was willing to trip up missions carried out by high ranking highly trained operators who were retired and may or may not have still been involved in various ways with government agencies... Jake Gyllenhaal is one of the greatest actors working in Hollywood, and the fact that he has one Oscar nomination with no wins is a CRIME! "Prisoners." "Nocturnal Animals." "Nightcrawler." "Zodiac." The movie was a middle finger to everyone who served. Couldn't even be honest at the end with his statements. Thousands of young soldiers were slaughtered to line the pockets of those at the top and then the country was handed back to the enemy on a silver platter with a minimum 80 billion dollar meal ticket and then the whole 20 year campaign swept under the rug and only talked about occasionally dishonestly like this film so yet again a wealthy director can profit of it

@@Barrrt My bad, dude. I suppose I should have said "I think it's superb" 😂 with all entertainment/art being subjective. I'm not saying it's perfect, but I liked almost everything about it. The storyline, the themes, the characters, the performances, the cinematography, the stylisation, the soundtrack. For me, there is a whole mood and tone to it that felt very well defined. It certainly has flaws, but I found the things it does wrong pale in significance to what it gets right. I didn't see it when it first came out, I only got around to watching it late last year. Didn't know much about it going into it either, other than: a Ritchie film, set in America, Statham starring, armoured trucks. I thought it would be half decent but it far exceeded my expectations. As I've only seen it once, to be fair maybe I won't enjoy it as much on a second viewing 🤷♂
