'Danger Close' is as accurate portrayal on the 1966 Battle of Long Tan, you're ever going to see. ~100 Diggers v 3000 NVA and VietCong. I went to Battle ground and Nui Dat recently. (Dad 9Sqdn RAAF pilot '68) Vietnam and Vietnamese are amazing... go visit asap 🇦🇺🇻🇳

Hacksaw Ridge, Platoon, The Deer Hunter, Apocalypse Now, Flags From our Fathers/Letters from Iwo Jima, Midway, One Bridge too far, Inglorious Bastards, Enemy at the Gates, Hunt for the Red October, The Bridge on the River Kway, Empire of the Sun, Schindler's List, Das Boot, Guns of Navarone, Kindgom of Heaven (not with firearms, still a war movie), The longest day, Battle of Britain, The Patriot, American Sniper (just popping on my head, no searches done)? WTH???? I do support many choices here, like 13hours, Black hawk down, Fury, Lone Survivor, The Outpost and ofc Saving Private Ryan (all great movies - well done with topping SPR at number one imo), but Top Gun? Nothing (almost) there is real, it's like more a sci-fi genre movie than a believable war one...

Have seen every movie in this list. For my opinion, the best of them are: 13 hours, Fury and The Outpost. Ryan and Black Hawk Down are classic today, they directed the others in the future... Top Gun is very nostalgic for me. Yesterday I watched it again on TV 🙂

Depends on your criteria. Jarhead (2005) is an awesome movie, but Stealth (2005) has more action scenes. Here, he went with more action-packed ones.

American Sniper (2014) - Directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Bradley Cooper as a real life Navy S.E.A.L. sniper Chris Kyle. It follows his life during and between several deployments, but the action scenes are great and the movie is really worth a watch in general.

To this day, I cannot watch Black Hawk Down. I get depressed and enraged at Bill Clinton not supporting those Rangers. Next most difficult movie is 13 hours - where Hillary Clinton allowed the compound to be overrun. I don't' forget. Got on in Armor, one retired 11B and a paratropper. It's personal.
