Guy writes about 'real life' Choir was about his band member & friend who took his own life...but here the children sang it as a celebration of life. Standing With You. was written for his cousin who Guy spent many hours with when he saw a post of his cousin saying 'the world would be a better place without him' Thankfully his cousin is fine and in a much better state of mind. Guy & wife Jules started The Sebastian Foundation and support many causes like 'safe houses' for domestic violence victims & their children. There new project is a program called Open Parachute already in over a thousand schools Australia wide which is 'free' to any student who need that extra support and those struggling with the pressures in today's world. He is such a wonderful human.

It makes me teary everytime I watch this school choir surprise video! The kids are just adorable and they can really feel the emotion in Guy's song. "Standing With You" is my favorite of Guy's songs.

Thanks Guys!! No pun intended. He auditioned for Australian Idol and went on to win it in 2003. He is a judge on The Voice in Australia now. I will send in more requests for him so you can see how awesome he really is.

Ohhh! I got my competitions mixed up. When I searched for Guy Sebastian I saw a thumbnail of him auditioning, didn't know it was Australian idol. I haven't seen much about him other than what you and Deb have sent me, but he is awesome

By the way, we have done your other 2 coffees as well, battle scars and Daryl, but youtube seems to have a bug right now. It has been processing for the past 24 hours already, and the video isn't working. I've alerted youtube support already. Let's hope this gets fixed soon

@@TeacherPaulReacts Hi Paul! Is it the Daryl Braithwaite one? I have heard from other KZbinrs that sometimes his videos are initially blocked and take time to be processed, but they are usually unblocked after a little while.

Yeah, 2 videos were blocked, battle scars and Daryl's one. It takes 48hs to unblock temporarily after dispute, if the dispute is rejected it gets blocked again. Then it takes 7 days to appeal. Sometimes it can get blocked for 30 days while dispute is processing and the worst case scenario is if they remove the video, then it results in a strike. In any case, if it gets blocked on youtube I always upload it to BMC

He won Australian Idol in 2003 - our first one. He is a judge on the voice now. Guy is lovely and has 2 school aged boys. John is his hero and he has the utmost respect for him as a man and performer. ♥️
