There's your problem, you have to be reading a whole *other* series, from *another author* in parallel while having already read the prequels that are published after both of the main series and aren't all out yet *and* travel into the future to read "Walk In Shadow" which is the last book of a sort of grandad-prequel trilogy by the original author. Then it all makes perfect sense and it reads like a standard philosophical symbolism-laden action-adventure /s

@@nox4298You... Can absolutely intend something as an author and have the end result still be bloat. There's plenty of works out there where authors legitimately just add things in to their work that really has nothing to do with anything. That's bloat and the way you come off almost proves that other guys point. The discussion is whether people can enjoy that or not. Some people do. I will never understand it but some people do.

@@LynetteTheMadScientist oh no, that was the joke and i've revealed my power level! in japanese it has a similar (negative) meaning to otaku but since we use the word otaku in western anime/manga games fandom in a neutral or positive way, it's the same way among western fujos in my experience. in japanese it specifically means a girl/woman who is obsessed with yaoi/BL. which ik isn't quite the same as liking otome games since you play as a girl in those but there's a lot of overlap between women who like otome games and women who like BL well....yeah. if we are using words for types of otaku in english, fujoshi is the closest word that covers someone who would probably *already* be interested in ready to talk about otome games. got a current favorite btw?

@@LynetteTheMadScientist I actually prefer reader inserts as an adult too, i just liked BL a lot when i was a teenager. i'll still read/play it if it comes up but otherwise i want to feel like the main character too haha. also ugh, i really wanted to play PotBB, it looked exactly up my alley and i heard great things about it, but i had a problem with the game repeatedly crashing when i got it and i couldn't figure out how to fix it. it was on a brand new gaming pc at the time too. apparently i wasn't the only person having those kinds of issues IIRC (it was a while ago since it came out) i've never played Mystic Messenger either, i'm in my boomer millenial era and not playing stuff on my phone a lot any more (it's phone only right?). but still i try to keep some games on there in case i'm stranded and bored with just my phone...hmmm.....
