My husband says there's a difference between hindu and Muslim persaud. Is this right?
@matthewsguyanesecooking46015 жыл бұрын
It is made very similar. The main differences is that Hindu parsad is usually made with ghee and Muslim parsad (halwa/sirnee) usually is made with butter and sometimes contains eggs (which isn't vegetarian for Hindu parsad).

Made Prasad for the first time. Always thought it was difficult but I'm surprise how easy and delicious this was. 😍 I tried the roat but it didnt wow me like the parsad. I think I just didnt add enough gee to fry it...lol. Can u reuse gee or do u just throw it away after frying once?
@matthewsguyanesecooking46015 жыл бұрын
I am happy to hear you enjoyed the parsad. Yes you must use enough ghee or else the roat sucks it all up and doesnt taste that great. Give it a try again, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. You can definitely use ghee again after frying. I usually make my roat first and then use the leftover ghee to make my parsad.

Hey Matthew, can i use butter instead of ghee? I’m too lazy to go out and buy ghee. I have stick butter here at home. If i can, would it be the same 1/2 cup?
@matthewsguyanesecooking46015 жыл бұрын
Yep! 1 stick is 1/2 cups. You may need to add the flour a little but at a time because sometimes the amount of flour varies for the butter parsad.
