essenzialmente la pianta è costituita da un ramo fruttifero annuale (che fruttifica nel corso di un anno) e da rami fruttiferi.
ogni anno è necessario rigenerare il nuovo ramo fruttifero per evitare cali di produzione e per equilibrare la pianta sul filare.
