The socialist suburban college kids wanted to value signal that they weren’t bourgeois, so they dress like they are working class proletariat class. They feel guilty about their white collar background and are trying to conceal it, despite still going to college. This led to a style change and that’s why a lot of people dress up like this now whether they are skilled tradesmen or not. The wealthy left enjoys the image of being “proletariat” but they are unable to practice it in reality. Im a tradesman in the Seattle area which tends to attracts huge numbers of these people. I wear a lot of these clothes just because it’s durable for the type of work I do, it was strange to start seeing everyone wear it also who didn’t work with their hands. Most people don’t know all that though, they just like the style, but that’s where this whole thing started

@@BrotherMonkey I understand completely. I am a local truck driver out of Chicago. I work 12 to 14 hours a day delivering goods to companies. I wear Carhartt because it didn't wear and tare like dickies did. I love being a blue collar, I wouldn't have it any other way. Without blue collar workers America dies. I'm not mad at the other side wanting to dress like us, I really laugh at it because it's funny to see someone dressed like me going to work at a customer service job to sit at a desk all day

Just coming off a 12 hour shift myself grinding concrete, good on ya! I would also say that shipping our manufacturing jobs also has led to a huge amount of crap quality everything, probably including clothing manufacturers. Carhart although catering to the more fringe “woke” crowd still makes a decently quality product unlike most places you buy clothes today. Ide imagine a lot more people are buying it for that reason alone, just because everything is such garbage.

@@BrotherMonkey I don't agree with this stunt Carhartt did with their employees, but they do make fine clothing for the working man. I just got home to find a package with my brand new Carhartt sweatshirt that I ordered two months ago on my porch.

I’ve been wearing Carhartt clothing, caps, and outerwear since the 90s, because I like the way it looks, but also because it’s durable and insulates against temperature extremes well. Lol I couldn’t have imagined these “hipster” types wearing it as some kind of fashion statement back then

Mkay, when he finishes cutting off the small twig of a branch with the chainsaw and immediately looks around for something else to chainsaw… it was at this very moment I felt personally attacked…. Look… here’s the deal…. I just happen to see an ugly spot in the grass that was missed and I already had the chainsaw running. It wasn’t about machismo, it was just there… I was there… the chainsaw was there… and running… DONT JUDGE ME!!!! 🤬

This form of satire and poking fun at two stereotypes isn’t political unless the viewer makes it political.
@haveyouseengeorgehennen10 ай бұрын
Well it's pretty common that country men or those who work labor jobs have political views leaned more towards the right, they work hard and don't expect handouts from anybody, so when you'd see a man or woman dressed in work wear often time you'd know what's their stand, funny enough you still tell them apart just by the lifestyle, and the video shows a clear example.
