Watching new players get overwhelmed in combat, panic, forget to use their abilities and die as a result is watching an initiation ritual we all had to go through, and I respect them for it. I'm glad new players are willing to try the game. Watching professionals with 10 000 hours in the game be lazy and walk into 10 mobs and act shocked as they die for content is getting tiresome at this point.

The mage quest is so easy. Just use the river. Split pull get in river keep aggro on 1 the other 2 disengage then you just the kill one. They don't chase in water just like Gazz's voidwalker.

THere are only 2 ways to deal with a caster: fight them or have a clear route to run away until they lose interest. Obviously a clear route is difficult to have in hardcore between high mob density and respawns (which BTW is why I never kill neutral mobs if I can avoid it, they are mobs you can travel through). It is interesting that the starting zones move you from dealing with neutral mobs, to hostile melee mobs, and then casters which add so much difficulty. For example in Dun Morogh you are fighting pigs, then yeti which introduces you to mob density and caves, then the frostmane trolls which give you casters. Unfortunately (or fortunately for hardcore clips) the density etc of these mobs are not set up to train for hardcore. In vanilla you would just die a half dozen times and get used to how you had to maneuver to successfully not die fairly quickly.

Also I was not clear on who was the tank in the group with Miz (from chat and from the POV being the healer's), obviously a hunter is not a tank, hunter should not be pulling unless the tank wants him too, and the tank should be aware of what mobs are threatening the group from every side not just looking at one thing. It is ok for someone who is not the tank to be leading the group especially if they are more familiar with the dungeon than the tank, but someone in the group should be aware of where the dangers are and speaking up about stupid things like going past dangerous trash.

Guzu skipped past it, but shortly after logging into his new warrior, and setting everything up while talking to Soda, he began receiving spam invites, which didn’t pop up in the middle of his screen (which was nice) , but it did get posted in his chat window. They were coming so fast you barely had time to see that he received whispers, let alone read any whispers before they had scrolled off into oblivon. His chat was a wall of yellow “[Vvwvvwvwvwvvwvwvv] Invited you to a group.”

FYI the mage quest at ~15/16 is EASY. Just use AE (carefully) to pull 1 at a time. Do NOT use the quest item to summon them.
