This is what I love about magic and independent communities. Quirky formats, creative play. Keeping it fresh.

Awesome decks, great match and what a cool format. Really makes you think hard on the possibilities when you take away all the cards you always think of first! I really enjoyed this match!

It’s been a really interesting experiment. We did see a lot of Living Plane combo-ish decks. I have another cool game coming up next Friday 🙌
@vinzclortho80Ай бұрын
@@TimmytheSorcerer Awesome. Looking forward to it. It was interesting to see how you were able to get around CoP-G when it seemed impossible. Lots of interesting scenarios in this format. I thought the ban list was a bit over-kill, but I like it 🙂. Cheers.

I had a lot of fun playing my deck. Managed to win one other game in the group stages and just needed one more game win to get into the t16 🤷♂️

What a great, fun match up! haha Rod of Ruin: "It's a Timmy on a stick!" that was great!

I've been thinking about this type of format for a couple of years. I love old school, but you always seem the same cards. Seeing these off meta decks is wonderful.

Great games! I loved to see Rod of Ruin in action. One of my favorite cards. I guess you could build a living plane cyclone deck with cop:green and castles to save your own lands.

I am so used to seeing the misprint serendib efreet that I thought that you had that in your sideboard at first. Then I realized it was an actual ifh-biff efreet. 🤣

This one is special, a whole new format that celebrates the 95% of the cards that should see more play :)

Hi Tim. I Play homebrew 1993-1997 before tempest. It is awesome.
@felixmustar7386Ай бұрын
i dont know anyone who played alpha beta in europe, revised MAYBE, but when all of us started to enjoy the game was 94/95 and the cards before 97 (ending at tempest block after 5th edition) are a beautiful timeframe to enjoy the game as intended for a reasonable price. i payed like 300 euro on single cards and have a nice pool to build alot of different competetive decks .

I’m not a fan of pre-modern, but I know a lot of people are. It’s much bigger than OS :) I don’t think I’ve seen your format much, but I do play Alice (Alliances and Ice age) once a year. I started playing in the revised era myself and instantly loved the abu cards and the first 4 extensions. Always tried to collect those cards and remember trading a revised Vesuvan Doppelgänger for a Mishra’s Workshop when I was 11 😂

I have the impression that Albert thought he had to spend (w) to use the circle of protection. It’s a pitty because sometimes he tapped mana in an odd manner probably for that reason.
@TimmytheSorcererАй бұрын
Me too, although he’s been playing magic since forever. I remember I said, “are you sure?”, but he was convinced 🤷♂️
@albertberg4282Ай бұрын
I know that I can use any mana to pay for the CoP. Most of the time i had fog or holiday in my hand if i remember correctly. So there was a reason why to tap the way i did. Although i had some beer before the game. 😅 BR Albert

Hmm in the second game he should have blocked the basilisk because of the lure, but instead chose to use cop:G, that's not how it works. After that, with no damge source in play, he kept putting lands into play only to see them get munched on by the basilisk. That was a chronicle of a death foretold. Still, very cool concept and also very biginner friendly to old school. No heaps of money thrown off a bridge to get that mox or ancestrall. OK so Keldon Warlord, Kobold bonanza,... 🤟
@TimmytheSorcererАй бұрын
He taps the land before blocks to activate cop green and target the basilisk. I think this is legit or are you talking about another moment in the game?
@metal--babble34629 күн бұрын
wait... where's the infinite mana combo, then use farting bunnies to destroy your opponent ??
