While many camera channels focus on talking specifics, you always show how to get the best out of every camera and let the images speak for themselves man. The sheer creativity that goes into each of these videos is unrivaled and a real source of inspiration. Thank you for going the extra mile in every amazing video you produce. You so perfectly encapsulate the idea of why this camera and a variety of other photo/video trends have their moment. At some point, even picking up an R5, a9iii, FX3, Z8, any of the best cameras *ever made* becomes work. You might love your work, I do, but many didn’t start this path to have a job. They started because they fell in love with making images and the world said the only way you get to do this all the time is if you make money with it. Using old manual lenses, cameras with different shooting styles, 35mm film, older “worse” sensors, or little Fuji cameras with an optical viewfinder and a fixed lens tricks your brain out of the camera being work, and lets you fall in love all over again. It keeps the spark alive! If you have fun without an expensive new camera, more power to ya. If you’re looking for it but can’t afford a $1600 cam, try some of the other things I said. If you don’t think it should be any fun, leave me alone.

Also note: The x100VI can output 16bit tiffs as RAW conversion files. That’s big for me as I use the fuji x RAW software to output their film sims faithfully, usually with any exposure and WB adjustments or corrections. Then I use LR to mask and create grads. Now I can do that on converted Tiffs instead of jpgs!

YES! It's wild that Fuji hasn't seen and taken advantage of the opportunities when it comes to simulation building by users - they should focus on this, it should be part of the app, it should be something there are specific interfaces for, it should be all about building simulations, LUTs, and sharing them, remixing them, saving and transferring them between cameras, etc. It's the logical progression of what they did when they started this, but haven't followed through on despite the huge popularity of it and their user's choice to just hack it into existence!

well one's a true rangefinder camera, full frame, actual weather sealing, a German product made in Germany, while the other is an affordable rangefinder-styled camera with great film recipes. both are different beasts altogether, basically comparing apples to oranges and i like both of them (still dont have the money to own any lmao).

@Ruylopez7788 ай бұрын
One is a mechanical rangefinder with interchangeable lenses, and full frame, and a sensor designed and optimised for B&W, and the other is not, and never will be. Leicas are way overpriced, but so niche that making them cheaper would sell significantly more. Since they won't be able to sell 300k units, the development and tooling costs per unit are high. Additionally, if you're buying a digital Leica, you probably already have lenses and bodies, or just enjoy the form factor and lack of gimmicks.

Not only do I love the aesthetic of these videos (and this camera series) but as a die hard B&W shooter of over 40 years (I'm 54 now) who grew up shooting film, Nikon, Hasselblad etc. Loading my own film etc......this channel has really sparked my interest in color. I've always liked it in certain genres but not my own. I'm shooting a X-T4 after my X-Pro2 was stolen and I like it but I've always pined for the rangefinder of the X100 series (it's what I bought my daughter for her first camera). As you say, it's what Leica should have done but I gave up on boutique brands a long time ago.

Cool that you talked about disabilites. I was born with my right thumb split (so born with total of 3 thumbs), but since my brain couldn't control them independently doctors removed one of them when I was 2. The end result is that my thumb was significantly weaker and less flexible, so I've always been very sensitive to cameras have good purchase for my thumb and not requiring too much bending. I don't have an X100 series camera anymore, but for me as well it's light weight was great and made it more useful.

There is something strangely soothing with using a Fuji camera to shoot Japan. Whenever you shot China, it always came out as gloomy, depressed, borderline Blade Runner-ish. But Japan just feels different, man. Warmer, cleaner, more orderly, almost nostalgic, in a sense... Always a treat to see whenever one of your videos are posted on KZbin ! “LIMITATION” is a gift. ❤ Most don’t understand and will never understand that but you do… BTW Beautiful work here… Unless I’m missing something let me ask you if I understand. So, this whole thing with you as a half human, half machine (cyborg) thing is partly because of your disability? I’m all about story and back story and although the images and story world is amazing I didn’t get the why… I couldn’t answer all the questions… Your images are so beautiful but you can’t even bend your fingers! Like all super hero’s who in their childhood have to adapt, you’ve adapted to be a master of your craft beyond the limitations of your body, and you did it without complaining or revealing, you did it out of necessity, you do it because you had to…❤ That is my interpretation and im sure im not spot on but we all have limitations but what you described would take photography off the menu for most but not you, instead you go become a hard working, creative, and proper master! You are a true superhero.❤

The original cyberpunk VR is back! And off axis is a sweet addition. Plus, Max Headroom studder-- both points make me smile. Outstanding art style of your work brings joy to my life. The Panasonic 76/7750 brings back memories of single frame recording 3D animation with a Video Toaster and LW 0.9 beta - LW 3.0. I lived in Okinawa for 6 years too. I couldn't agree more on the LUT topic! I mention the same need all the time. I have been a strong RAW advocate, but I really want true in-camera LUT, and also more film sim (and LUT) ease of adding and removing to the camera. Banks of these like a synthesizer has and back them up, share up/download to websites, etc. Ten isnt enough. They are just text files providing instructions to the camera, they consume no space! I digress. All of what I see in your videos hits deep in regions of self through time that defined my life path. You are my favorite artist. Cheers!
