From someone who is used to the "hipster retro" look from Fuji, it's understandable that they don't like the design, but for someone like me that is a fan of "retro futurism" this camera looks unbelievable beautiful

Actually this GFX does have similarities to some of the old film cameras as well - the large 'prism' on top totally reminds me of my old Nikon F3HP, whilst the general angular design language is also a throwback to the older Fuji 645 medium format film cameras (which arguably, the GFX is).

You have no idea of the anticipation I have for a new video from you, I'm just hyped. Please do more, I'm sick of Netflix and others boring content, you're the future of great cinematography and an inspiration to our craft.
@_mixedsignals Жыл бұрын
Honestly not trying to fight you -- i'm genuinely curious, as someone who works in more "traditional" film/tv content -- but why do you think Netflix is boring? Is it that the content is too homogenous? Or that you find short form content on YT to be generally more pleasing to consume?
@samforster1794 Жыл бұрын
Aware you didn't ask me, but shall give my two cents anyway. Netflix has released some of the best series of all time, it just feels as though these days there's 15+ garbage shows for every 1 that's actually worth watching - almost making it feel like you're looking for a needle in a hay stack. I also feel as if Netflix is still relying way too heavily upon viewing levels on great shows that are now 3 to 7 years old. Narcos, Prison Break, Breaking Bad, the list goes on. Ultimately I think Netflix still releases shows with insane popularity, just with noticeably fleeting regularity these days. @@_mixedsignals
@samforster1794 Жыл бұрын
Plus as you say, there's still a lot of people who will happily sit down and watch films with 120min+ run times, but it seems as if the vast majority of individuals are flocking towards short format content - Tiktok/Instagram etc with 30 second run times. Inevitably attention spans to watch Netflix shows/films will continue to deteriorate. @@_mixedsignals
@SamuelJamesVideos Жыл бұрын
@@_mixedsignals I'll chime in and say that most modern content is just too cookie cutter and toothless. The reason people love things like short form and reels is because it's real. There's life and a sort of patina to the content. Things like netflix and hulu lack this because everything is just made and meddled with by a board of suits trying to maximize profit and appeal to the widest audience possible to rake in the almighty dollar on a mass scale. It's the same problem that most subjects funnel down to now a days - greed ruins everything. You can't create art if all you're worried about is "how many people will pay to watch this?"
@johnnyrocks9 Жыл бұрын
It's just unoriginal stories with random directing and art direction, everything is built as a product to be marketed, and not as a story that's interesting and entertaining. Oh and also woke shit, all, the, fucking, time. I want to watch a good film, no be lectured about gays and black, I'm already not homophobic and not racist so shut the fuck up. There is also no cinematography anymore, no composition, no character, no pace, just a show or a movie that will do well in a trailer for KZbin to hype people but it's actually empty. Is that enough ?

I have been using the Fujifilm digital cameras for over 20 years, and have been using the X-mount cameras for 10 years. Always love the "Fujifilm colours", but this time the GFX really took my photography experience to a new level. Amazing dynamic range.
