Take a large pair of channel locks and squeeze the slot tight onto the orange plastic end after you get it back into the slot. Fixed for good!

That is a much better video than the video someone else posted demonstrating how to do the same thing on a 4Runner. That clown failed to explain how to get that plastic cover completely out of the way. I got in there, but didn't have enough space to get that plastic part back in the slot. I'm gong to take another crack at now. The service records for my GX showed the previous owner had this fixed once before at the dealership. The notes for that repair stated that it would cost about $700 to fix it if it happens a second time because they would have to remove the seat from the vehicle. Thanks for the great video.

Before you Stick it in there, get you some electric tape and wrap it around the lock area of the cable. It'll hold That way!

Yup, dealer quoted me $680 to fix this. Fixed it myself but scratched up the plastic cover cause I didn't know how to take it off. GXBob is the man once again.

For the first half of my life, I've been choosing careers that didn't' pay well, especially pole cleaning and VIP room cleanup at the local gentlemen's club. $700 for a 15-minute job would have been a life changer if i knew back then how much plastic lever technicians get paid.

Thats also going to lead to my downfall. Always trying to fix other people's crap when they don't want it touched. For example, my neighbor went to Greece for a month and when they came back their Honda Accord was white instead of forest green. They didn't appreciate me going out of my way to fix their ugly paint job from the manufacturer.

MR GX, love your videos. One of my son’s idiot friends pulled the grab handle out of the headliner in the 3rd row, ever had to fix that? I can be a sucker but taking it to the dealer to get that fixed feels a bit bougie to me.

For that grab handle to come out of its socket, requires the strength of a 400 lb child. I recommend not heli-coiling the damage, instead put a sticker where that handle used to be that says "Not for use, only for aesthetic purposes".

Great instruction, however harder than expected to put it back into the slot. Don't do it on a hot day.
