Hey man, due to finacial issue's, I cannot afford to take my scooter to a garage, so trying everything I can to get it started myself, it has run so well, then after two weeks of standing still it wont start at all, drained the old fuel off, put new fuel in, put a new spark plug in and checked for spark (definitely had spark and gave myself a shock too!)....so my next step is to check the carb, I have never done this before, I had an initial inspection today and couldnt figure out how to remove he throttle cable, so your video has just shown me how! thanks man!

extremely professional level job not only on the scoot maintenance, also the way you present it. clear, concise...might be too good for a yt vid. i have a kymco agility 125 that is acting cranky lately. shops tell me its probably the carb from sitting, but don't know if i want to get into the diy of everything. but really a nice job all the way around. that is very kind of you to make a presentation like this for folks looking to save some cash on their scoots! i may just take a shot at draining the carb to see if i can get it to run again. kick only when it has sit for days and then when and if it comes alive it runs like the day i got it! then it just won't kick.

I wouldn't use a brass bristle brush on the float needle seat. I take a q-tip, snap it in half, dip the cotton in polish, insert q-tip into drill, and polish the seat. That seat should be very shiny. Fixes a leaky seat every time. BTW, you won't get lost in the crowd, with those shorts on.

Can you make a video on were the fuel filter goes I brought an new carb for my 150cc gy6 scooter an had someone else install it but now I am not getting any gas to the carb
@electronicsNmore9 жыл бұрын
+Jonathon Myers Hello John. If your scooter has a fuel filter installed, it should be on the fuel line between the gas tank and carburetor. If you are not getting any fuel, then you may have a faulty petcock(fuel shut-off valve). Try bypassing that valve. You will see a vacuum line connected to it along with the IN/OUT fuel lines. Thanks For Watching! Be sure to share my videos with others and rate thumbs up.

I've been having a problem with my scooter when riding... When riding at higher RPM, it goes fine for a little and then stalls. After, I have to crank it excessively to restart. I theorize that when going, my float bowl is being drained out faster than it refills, causing stall and needing excessive crank to refill. I have a brand new mikuni (sp) vacuum fuel pump that I inspected before installation, so I know it isn't that unless the 35L/H rectangle ones are too weak, and now I'm pretty sure through process of elimination that it's my floater. Maybe it gets stuck closed when I fill the bowl up? and then it drains over time... of course then I wouldn't be able to refill it via cranking... ugh, diagnosing my issue has been the biggest pain... any ideas on what it could be? I idle like a champ, but at 45 mph I make it about half a kilometer before it just cuts off
@electronicsNmore7 жыл бұрын
Next time you have the problem, immediately try using engine starting fluid, or some gasoline sprayed into the air intake. If it starts right up, then you have a fuel system problem.
@RemingtinArms7 жыл бұрын
Well in experimenting with the problem I've narrowed it down some more... since I had to drain the carb to work on it, the problem became all the more obvious. Fuel isn't making it to the carb (I put my filter for outgoing on the end, about 3-4 inches before the carb fuel inlet, and I can clearly see that it is not filling... I start up fine with starter fluid as always, which tells me that my problem is somewhere between the tank and the carb... All of my lines are clear though, I blew through each just to ensure that before installation, and my vacuum pump is new and of quality brand so that's fine... The only thing that puzzles me is the hose setup, I did it the way it came, but my scooter came to me pre-assembled by the dealer so maybe they messed up from the beginning? I have a gas tank unlike what I am used to seeing, it has 2 ports on top (actually 3, there's one at the very top near where u fill it is capped off, much smaller than the other 2) and only one of those 2 ports actually is going into the fuel inlet for the vacuum pump, the other is connected to a T and is having gas go back in from the outlet. I presumed that was done like that to prevent vacuum pressure from building up inside of the tank and eventually being greater than the pump's capacity, but I am now looking at it as the most probable culprit. Any experience with something like that? I'm more experienced with petcock style, elevated fuel tanks, so IDK if maybe that's all wrong... seems like it could be as simple as raising the fuel line going back in the tank so that fuel will go to the carb until enough pressure against the float is built up for it to go that way, or maybe uncapping that small port to allow air to fill the tank as fuel is drained from both of the other ports... I'm just glad to finally have the possibilities down to a minimum lol

WHAT IS THE FLOAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT. NOBODY EVER KNOWS.
@electronicsNmore10 жыл бұрын
The fuel level height is suppose to be around 18.5mm. If no one ever touched the float, then you should not have to bend the tab on the float to adjust the height. More important is that the plunger attached to the float has a good seat.
