Hey Tyler it's Shane from Indiana I've got the 2018 New Racer 50 by Tao Tao (LU LU)... I was just going through my saved how to videos & came across your video for needle adjustment... Just wanted to let you know that you did an awesome job explaining the process... Wish it had been made back when i started learning... You should do your next one on the CVT drive train topic. ( Variators & Clutches)...

Do a video on sparkplug reading for 2 stroke engines and diagnosing lean vs rich conditions. Idle to WOT.

Bruh. I bought a black top cvk from y'all. Did you adjust mine just outta the kindness of your heart?
@Partsforscooters15 ай бұрын
Nope, those black tops just run great right out of the package and rarely need adjustment. Never gonna find something like that on Amazon. That's why they're the "premium" option. Thanks! For everyone else: www.partsforscooters.com/151-273-Premium-50cc-Carburetor

I have a scooter 150cc. The engine does idle ok in most cases. However, increasing the throttle cause the engein to almost stalling. Not able to go full throttle. How to fix this issue?

Changing the needle, in scoot, be careful, the spring can get away from you, don't ask me how I know, but I still haven't found mine! I was pushing it down about to put it back together, my finger slipped, it went flying to who knows where, in my defense it was dark, I was making sure all was in it's place, and it was fitting probably, and the spring disappeared! Just my luck, but I was able to make another spring, to get me where I needed to be! It didn't run perfect, but it did run!

@Partsforscooters111 ай бұрын
Sure, or just spend 35 bucks and get something better than stock without all the hassle of modification. www.partsforscooters.com/Carburetor_qmb139

so what if my Keihin CVK carb has no adjustment on the needle head? the entire needle is solid brass, and it says 0268 stamped on the side of it (edit) upon further investigation, it appears to be a performance needle from (cvperformance) for the Harley Davidson CVK carbs.. that interestingly have a Keihin logo stamped on the side but instead of saying CVK has a Harley logo stamped in its place... odd. Anyway, my specific carb is un-identifyable it is says Keihin CVK on the carb with parts numbers that do not exist on the internet, I was told it was taken out of a snow mobile and put into my dirt bike and supposedly was a HUGE difference over the stock KLR250 carb... SO from what I can tell this needle is not adjustable, however I checked and mid-range and top RPM is fine... The issue I'm having is popping at lower RPMs so I'm lead to believe my issue is the float is allowing TOOOOO much fuel in the bowl.. If your still with me here lol does that sound somewhat correct? In other words on idle, if I blip the throttle even a little bit the bike pops. Not terribly but just enough to know its not running right.

Some have "set" or non-adjustable needles, unfortunately. The Honda Ruckus is this way, and tuners have installed small shims under the needle head to lift it and allow that little bit extra fuel in the midrange.
