@Bilde Rothchild Yeah, I grabbed 2 "shop manuals" online (I don't think ANY of these Chinese scooters have official manuals), and they both said .00197" for both valves. And one said 10W-30 oil, while the other said 10W-40. So, who knows what's best? Furthermore, what does it mean to be "best?" Is it best performance? Longest life?

.005 intake, .004 exhaust has the best rpm, less noise and high speed ...done it with my kymco 125 super 8 gy6

My air filter box is sitting right over the carb and manifold and I can't see how to get the whole damn thing off and out of the way......any suggestions on a new air filter so that I can eliminate the current stock set-up? It's a Tao Lancer 150cc scooter. Thanks

I have a Daelim Beagle 50CC 139qmb motorcycle. 1.5 years ago I had a 47mm cylinder piston set fitted and I was very satisfied. There was no slope that 2 people could not climb! I was able to climb a slope of about 1-1.5 km with a slope of 70 degrees and this slope at 30 km. To get to the bottom, I was itchy and I had a 50MM cylinder piston and cap. While you can go on a straight road with an average of 76 KM, now it's 60 and the engine's traction has dropped a lot, I climb steep slopes very hard. I did a little research, they said, put the old cylinder head on, the compression ratio will increase, the traction will improve, I did, yes there was some improvement, but still 60-65 max speed is a little better on slopes, but the engine was obviously better with a 47MM cylinder piston set. Could the valve clearance settings be wrong? How many mm should the correct valve clearance be? So what could be the problem? I'm about to go crazy :)

when cold adjustment of the intake valve, put .0004 gauge in the valve when adjustment.

Can you diagnose this one? I have a GY6 150cc TaoTao with 2100 miles. Won't start and I can only get 80 psi on the compression. Did a valve adjustment it is fine. I only gained five PSI from that and it will not leak air out of the piston or the valves, what is wrong with it?

Sorry there’s something wrong with, the compresión ratio full throttle open is over 125 to 138 minimum , if it’s no scratched the cilíndrelo walls maybe it’s an a alignment of rings a common issue , try pour some 10 oil mm in the spark plug then few turns and check compresión (look for a tutorial of crowning rings in small engines pistons I hope this helps

I have a 2018 ICE BEAR 150 Started having Cold start problems swapped 26 mm replacement carb same thing it will run with starting fluid wont idle when you turn it off same problem won t run without starting fluid. Only have 650 miles. The shop said adjust valves or do I have to run a 24mm carb. PLEASE HELP RICK

I have a 2020 50cc ICE BEAR same problem 57 miles. Only Run 93 octane PREMIUM fuel (it should say it on the fuel tank.) If the bike has been sitting it will be good to drain the fuel tank and clean the carb thoroughly . Before trying to start it, pump the throttle 4 times. It will start. the valve adjustment should not be done until 1000 miles/km. Mine runs perfect now remember only PREMIUM fuel.

My valves are still making a rattling sound after adjusting it to 004/005... What is this caused by? (ZNEN ZN50QT-E 2002)

Your gaps aren't actually set properly. They rattle when they're too loose. You're probably close to .007/8. Happened to me first time I tried to adjust my valves. Double check that a 005 doesn't fit at all in the 004 or a 006 doesn't fit the 005. Also when you set it to TDC, make sure the timing mark on the flywheel is in the right spot. There's a rubber plug on the back of the fan cover you can pop out to see the mark after rotating the wheel

@@Enkii777 no prob. I just did an adjustment today which took forever bc I didn't have a 9mm wrench so I could hold the pin still with plyers. Everytime I tightened down the nut with a socket it dropped the clearance by .002. Took 30mins to get my 004/5 correct 😒

@@warrenclyde2467 He's saying in mm. So .05mm is .00197 inches; and .06mm is .0024 inches. I downloaded 2 different "shop manuals" on line that said the correct lash is .05mm for both intake and exhaust. That seems tighter than what most videos are saying on KZbin. But, hey, they were "manuals" (if there is such a thing for Chinese scooters).

Hey Joey thanks for the video....The title may need to be edited as the Chinese GY6 comes in three popular versions 50cc,125 and 150cc and the valve clearances are different for all three.I think the one you have is the 150cc but these settings may not work on European 50cc motor.

Hi , I like how u do it , I go to .006 intake / .007 Exaust doing it in cold , the manual of the axus 150cc by Vento says use 10W40 here we don’t have cold winters but hot summer ; then how those oil grade affects to keep the small china Gy6 running , easy cold running ,I have issues w carburetor cause Vento don’t sales spares kits just the same whole junk carburetor thath spills gasoline and doe the worst gas mileage performance I m going to the laugh house when I went to full tank I pint to cero in two days. And really crazy because I don’t see black smokes or a clued spark plug already my scooter is over 2370 km I do oil changes each 800km and one more when new (this stuff makes me think why I buy this crap ? ) Vento is a worst post sale no parts and bad service poor attention to costumers , since new 100km I spent 180bucks cause it’s not covered by warranty and 300bucks thath Vento denied to fix in warranty , sorry for the burring story ! The point is to see if the small maintenance helps to keep those wheels running .

Never did one on it. It takes about 5 minutes to do. Unbolt old, install the new one. Hardest part was surfing net for days to find one that: had the exact same bends, same bolt distance, and reviews saying it was a straight pipe with no emission controls.

thought no need to find t mark any place on cam that is not on lobe is good to use, beer or soda can aluminium is near right thickness can use a piece of it instead of feelger gauge.
