In Mauritius Hindus celebrate Maha Shivaratri by doing a pilgrimage to the lake called Ganga Talao. Many Hindus from all over the world come to participate.

Although i am not believer of god but I am a cultural hindu, This mosque and thousand of other mosques in India that are built on top of our temples are symbols of humiliation and they must razed down and temples should be rebuilt. What a great video. I wish I could sit and have a conversation with you one day haha. I’m a Malaysian Tamil currently living in Winnipeg to pursue my PhD. Malaysians and Singaporeans are probably the most connected to India amongst all the other diasporas since we still speak the language and understand the Agama Shastras when it comes to Temple building laws. I went to a Tamil immersion school back in Malaysia as well so that gives me an upper hand too. I wholeheartedly agree that we should be more aware of our history. This form of tyranny is seen all over the world. I see it in Malaysia (an Islamic country), the Hagia Sophia in Turkey and even the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem. There is a clear trend all across the world that needs to be brought to light. I try my best to chant the Yajurveda here in the Winnipeg Hindu temples to bring awareness to the masses on the importance of our scripture. I’m glad to see more people like you trying to bring awareness to our religion and our civilisations.

That is really sad. Luckily we don't have that in Malaysia. I still go to Tamil Nadu and other parts of South India for pilgrimage. Hopefully, the government does not destroy the ancient temples there. Also just a note, Malay is a racial group and one of the native groups of Malaysia. So I am not a Malay Tamil, since I am 100% Indian. The three ethnic groups are Malaysian Malay, Malaysian Chinese and Malaysian Indian (mainly Malaysian Tamil and Malaysian Punjabi). I applaud your work. I like your cool, collected, positive and well informed approach to the topics you cover. I wonder how united we Hindus here in Trinidad really are. You see young Muslims here openly and proudly observant of their Friday prayers, strictly and explicitly abstinent of alcohol and faithfully adherent to their peaceful religion, whereas young Hindu boys are ashamed to display their faith and Hindu girls are worse in their proclivities.

The amount of destruction Islamic rulers caused to our temples and other holy places was disheartening, and I have visited many Hindu places where the nose and head if the murty are cut off; I feel like crying seeing this level of hate and brutality. You know, Maa Ahilyabai wanted to build the temple at its original site but the Brahmins requested her to not do so as the Nawabs that ruled the neighborhood would have destroyed it after the departure of Ahilyabai to show the superiority of Islam over Kuffar, and while doing so, they would have butchered the Hindus again. Therefore, the temple was constructed beside the mosque. But, the original site is the original sacred place. Nothing can take its place. So, the battle to reclaim it continues.

Great content as well as channel. It's always encouraging to see that the Hindu diaspora is starting to stand up against all atrocities that Hindus worldwide have faced. I would especially like to hear about Christian persecution of Hindus in the Caribbean as well as forced conversion. I remember when I was there, many stories of forced conversion by missionaries as well as stigmatization of Hindus leading to conversion. Hoping that you can bring this content sometime soon.

i was part of the BIDESIA Documentary back in 2006-07. people from Suriname, Dutch and Carribean were on a visit to the land of their ancwstors. OOOhhhhhhhhh, The folk music they sang all through the journey was world dominating.
