In the annals of gymnastics history, few athletes are more underrated than Daniela Silivas. She was so incredible and had such a positive demeanor.

Phoebe Mills was just rock solid. I dont think she made even the slightest wobble (except for the hop on the dismount). I would give her a 9.8 for execution, due to the shuffle on the landing. Crazy how most of the scores at this olympics were between a 9.9 and 10, even with steps on landings and balance checks. The new scoring is so much better and more discriminative between a good routine and a great routine.

Lisa Vega Silivas did not even have a waver. She was awesome. If she stuck the dismount, that is a true 10.000. The 9.987 is fair. She had far more difficulty than Phoebe.

In terms of the bars, Phoebe had the most boring routine of the finals and was gifted a 9.95 Polokova was equally as boring and deserved less. The issue came with the top 5. Silivas deserved a 10. Kersten 9.95, Shoushounova 9.95 Thuemmler 9.95 Boginskaya 9.95. However, I think they fucked with the 10s to get the right placings of the gymnasts in order to rank them. With the scores I mentioned, the standings do not change, so they got the placings right. On that event ONLY . The royally fucked up the floor and vault finals. Floor should have had 2 Bulgarians on the podium, and vault should have had NO Romanians on it. Beam they should have had Potorac in second and Mills and Shoushounova tied for third

@Nathaniel Walker Where it also stood out was in the FX finals, where Boginskaya stayed on the podium when she had no business being on it and the Bulgairans got shut out of a second medal, which they deserved. In BB finals, Mills had the best routine overall, but was also held down in prelims somewhat, but was lucky to get through the judging to grab the bronze. The compulsory judging was a joke, but more of a joke were the scores the East Germans were given in team finals

Phoebes toepoint was she strait legs were so apparent! It was in your face! Phoebe won that score because of her impeccable form! And, the flawless landings on the beam!

strykertool Well, that is actually partially correct. It is true that Romania's weakness is uneven bars (and I do not think it has something to do with the girls, but with their coaches), but the biggest problem in the last years is that they barely have enough girls to make a team. Sandra Izbasa had to come back from retirement at a certain point because they didn't find enough girls to complete the team. In the mean while, in the US hundreds of girls fight for that chance. It's difficult to compare a team that contains the best of the best to another that just is.

Shushunova should've received a deduction every time she flailed her arms like that to catch her balance. It's unfortunate that code allowed it. She did that on the vault in the AA, Beam finals, and here on the bars. She didn't deserve perfect 10.00's with such landings imo.

I loved Dagmar Kersten, but that was not a 10.00 routine due to the hop on her dismount. Silivas should have won the AA too in my opinon.

Yes but the last time a Romanian won an olympic medal on Bars was here...25 years ago. Romanian's were great in this era on bars but they have become one of the worst, it is the reason why they have not been able to win a major world or olympic title ( i don't count europeans) in nearly 10 years

This is what confuses me. This is what really really pisses me off about the American commentators ie Elfie (get a real name!!) and Tim ( get a real job and come ouf of the closet). They say that the Romanians are bad at the Uneven bars. HOWEVER!!! A Romanian won an Olympic medal at these games and Nadia got a perfect 10 while performing on ......... you guessed boys and girls... on the UNEVEN bars... Comment and discuss. I seriously hate ...yes HATE those two American commentators on NBC
