Thanks for a great video. Will I be able to achieve hypertrophy by increasing reps with this workout?

I'm really excited to add these moves to my daily routine once I find a spot where I'm legally allowed to hang my rings ;) thanks for the info. I've been looking for basic ring movements to incorporate my rings into my routine.

I thought at the top of dips it was important to turn the hands outward, I.e so the palms faced toward the front of the body?
@gmbfit8 жыл бұрын
That's a great goal for elbow conditioning if you're working towards leverage holds. We always teach RTO in our programs, because they build to those skills. But it's not necessary for a general fitness routine. More important is to control the movement, steady the rings, and work towards good ROM. Those are the primary goals here.

+GMB Fitness I see, thanks for the advice.

No problem. It's a good question.

Hi there, great video - super helpful thanks. Are there some other routines that would round this out well as a fuller workout? Trying to find something compatible with it - maybe more core focus or a skill practice..

I'm sure there are! Just depends on what you're going for.

Good stuff, but wondering about tips on quickly changing ring height - this circuit goes from rings way down for pushups to rings up for dips. This seems like it would slow the circuit way down having to constantly adjust the ring height. Or is there a quick way to do that?
@gmbfit6 жыл бұрын
It doesn't really have to take much longer than a few seconds. It's harder to get the rings exactly even, but you get better at it with practice.

Thanks. Appreciate the quick response. I am new to rings and have found your site to be awesome place for lots of different info. Keep up the good work.

Love doing these movements. Sadly, my straps don't reach lower than thigh level, so I have to improvise in order to do my pushups. :) There's also one trick I borrowed from other workouts: if I want to challenge myself, I'll slow down the negative movement up to 3 - 4 seconds. It burns but it feels so good afterwards. :)

Slowing down is always a great progression :)

Why no retraction of the scapulae at the bottom of the push up?

He's keeping a relatively hollow body for stability

Why is he not turning the rings out as stated here, gmb.io/rings-workouts/? Is one way better than the other?
@gmbfit8 жыл бұрын
Because this is a beginner workout, and RTO is less important than the more fundamental technical cues in this video. RTO comes later.
