Ok I tried it and it was way harder than expected! Drill 8 was the best for my level as it felt really good to step into the top position instead of attempting to jump into it, felt really solid. I think I'll pick 3 drills to practice next time rather than attempting to work through the whole sequence and giving up!

Great to know! And absolutely! Pick the drills you like most and stick to them. After change it up a bit. 🙂🤝

I feel like we are building up from the bases with prehab and proper understanding of the body to our first ring work and eventually to our first f skill over the years! :D

I’m so so sorry but I’m getting mixed feelings from your remark. 🙂 Are you saying that “we are moving too slowly and it will take us forever to start learning F%^%ing skills” OR you like the direction we are moving in toward skills rated by FIG code of point from A (easiest) to H (most difficult) amongst which F rated skills” 🤷🏼🙂 ….I am genuinely a bit confused. -)

@getgymnastfit thank you for letting me clarify. I'm talking about ranking system for skills. I really enjoy getting in to all the details and theory and it helped me alot. I'm a big fan I wish there was a channel like this when I started. When I started I went full Rambo on weighted dips of alot of stretch on chest and wrong form. I now have chronic sternum pain since to years and can only do ohp movements lile hspu.... I have this dream of planching or even Maltese one day. I know it take years tho, of course also only if the sternum ever recovers. I think I damaged the nerves xD

I know those aren't F skills. I was exaggerating but I think better aim high and shoot low then aim low and hit the ground... or something like that^^

This is the best and most comprehensive way to get used to rings turned out. Most people tell us to wait until stronger on ring stability on ring holds to 1 minutes then try rings turned out. Awesome video look forward to more videos. 🎉

This 47:58 min video is worth my time. You have given a detailed explaination on each and every progression for mastering the top position. I've liked the way you explained the theory in detail, especially as to how the spine, shoulder, elbow, wrist should be positioned which I think beginners like me will definitely benefit from. I've got a few questions, suggestions: 1) I'm interested in gymnastic rings and I'm planning to buy one pair of rings. Would it be possible for you create a video on how to go select the ring, the straps, the ceiling anchor, the distance between ceiling anchors, etc ? 2) I hope this will not be just a one video on the rings. Would it be possible for you to create a youtube playlist on "gymnastic rings". Let this video be the second video on that list while the one that requested in point 1 be the first video. Subsequent newer "rings" videos can get added to this playlist. 3) Please create a video in which all exercises that can be performed on gymnastic rings can be showcased. May a 5 second video snippet of each exercise with their names mentioned get clubbed together to form this video. 4) Subsequent videos can be a follow up on the video snippets. Just like this video which has progressions, the exercise tutorial videos can also have step-by-step progressions for that exercise. I've been searching the internet to get progression videos, but in vain. May be you can create these tutorials since you have the knowledge and physical strength. 5) Let this playlist be the only playlist that youtubers need to see for "gymnastic rings".

Thank you for your kind words! I am glad to learn it was helpful. And thank your suggestions. I’ll keep them in mind. As for #1. You can get absolutely any set of rings on Amazon. They are practically all the same. A choice of the anchor point depends on your environments but for as long as it’s reliable and fits your place it can be any type of anchor. Again Amazon. 🙂

Guess this means I need to promote my rings from clothes hangers back to their intended use....and actually use the closet🙄 I started backwards a couple months ago, by trying to understand and perfect false grip, first. Even bought hand protection. Gave up after about a week, thus, clothes hangers. 4th listen as i went along the day..will sit down and view later. Thx Maxin

Do you think these are possible with a trx?
@getgymnastfitКүн бұрын
Sadly no. Trx has one anchor…we need two so that each strap’s neutral state is perpendicular to the floor.

@getgymnastfitКүн бұрын
Holds on rings are different from holds on bars. Most likely you just need to learn the right way of holding support on the ring and that is what this video is all about. 🙂 Give it a watch and try.
