Hey would you mind doing a video including some info on how to use and how effective it is to use a gymnastics back strap? My lower back is very weak and is often in pain and I’m looking to purchase one of those back straps.

What do you do before your gymnastics training ? What stretches or warmups do you before ?

A Great video of workout! I have some questions about training schedule, how do you make a schedule of training and rest day? And how many days you normally take rest? I normally take break for 2 days per week, and would you recommend to set 3 days for training and drill and take a break for 1 day. And take another 3 days for training and take 1 day for rest again. Or taking 5 days for training and drill including weight training, and take break for 2 days on weekend.

I’m a bboy, and recently practicing some move such as flare which gymnast also practice everyday, recently I feel my schedule need to be adjusted. Could you give me some advices? Thank you!
@sidpaulson14 жыл бұрын
I usually do full body 3 times per week (1-2 days of rest between). Or I do upper/lower 4 times per week, resting 1-2 days after doing both workouts.

Thanks for the question!

@@sidpaulson1 I'm usually sore for several days, so that I can only work out once, maybe twice a week.
@sidpaulson12 жыл бұрын
That works really good too
@36SOAD6 жыл бұрын
So if you do each of these two workouts twice a week, do you have three rest days or do you do another type of workout on those? How do you combine those with the gymnastic specific weight training that you demonstrated in your other video? Also do you have any advice on when to switch from working out 3 times a week to 4 times a week? I have been training calisthenics/gymnastics like techniques since last spring and I would like to switch to 4 times, but I still feel like my tendons need that rest day between each workout. Is there anything I can do to help prepare my joints/tendons? Great videos by the way!

I also do other workouts :) Weight training is usually done at the end of the workout on strength days! When you feel comfortable and have gotten used to 3x per week. Ice/heat, foam rolling, nutrition :)

*This is not meant to be a trolling question, cereal* So I've been into athletics for over ten years, everything from rock climbing and bodybuilding to yoga and NFL agility/power training. Every part of all that is making my brain SCREAM at seeing such hard locks on the elbows, but since I'm totally new to gymnastics (obsessed the moment I realized how weak I am with everything about it), I say to myself, "what is the point of it? Such overt locking?" Pls response.

Hey Sid how many handstand push up is enough for a ring gymnast?

That's hard to answer, depends on the context.

Please help me guy? and practice about 9 months. Now, i'm training muscle up and back lever as well. But my friend said: that was too much for upper body, and i should focus only muscle up. But i watch your video i see you train like 3,4 skill in one program. So...........................should i train back lever too?
@NyvekBr7 жыл бұрын
tri ngo i am training for ring muscle up and press to Handstand, what requires alot of Shoulder. I didnt haverá any injuries yet, and i am training for this for over 2 months. Also im training for back Lever too, but not that frequentally
@SenEmChannel7 жыл бұрын
NyvekBr i think the more skill you train, the less progression you make for each skill. I consider to quit backlever untill i get muscle up. Anyway, tks your cmt
@sidpaulson17 жыл бұрын
I don't believe training muscle up and back lever at the same should be any problem. That could be different for you if you are not properly prepared, maybe the back lever is to advanced for you at the moment (it's a very intense skill, and you should be very patient with this one) If you are properly prepared for back lever, keep doing it. Otherwise, focus on more basic skills until you are ready!!:)
@sidpaulson17 жыл бұрын
Everything in moderation. It can be very individual on how much volume one can handle. Like you said low frequency can be used not to over-do it.
@sidpaulson17 жыл бұрын
It depends on how much focus you can put on the skill, the more skills you add the more focus and energy you lose for the other skills. It's all about finding the right balance!

Hello man! just discovered ur channel. (sry if my english suck im french, hope u'll understand) I am 19 and i would love to learn Gymnastic/Calisthenics but i feel like i have no strenght... i can do soemthing like 20 push ups, 5-10pulls ups, a disgusting muscle-up, 8-12 dips, so i am not a total beginner. When i start to train for handstand, back lever, front lever, planche, tuck planche, or some core exercises im bad and have no strenght... What should i do to train my core? and how many times per week? what exercices should i focus on? If u understood and can help me i would love! Greetings from France
@sidpaulson14 жыл бұрын
I would find some kind of gymnastics strength program to follow. It's difficult to do it all yourself. For core I would focus on hanging leg lifts.

I like watching these videos to help build a routine but, you have to find better music that can help you stay focus and not lose conconsciousnes. The music made me feel like on a boat .

You need to watch my newer videos, I can't change the music I used 2-3 years ago 😱
