on the opposite note of "how can you call this a sport?" How can you not call this a sport? It's extremely skilled and athletic. If you have ever jumped on a trampoline or done gymnastics ... you should know this is highly difficult; obviously beautiful to watch. It's as hard, if not more so than the sprints, or hurdles, or most of the track and field events. I mean, for me, it's just shocking how people downplay the worthiness of this amazing event

I understand. It's just a feeling I have about some events/activities. Doesn't take away from the skill, greatness, and the hours and hours of hard work people put into any of them.

I never realised you could move around the trampoline so much, and there's me spending hours making sure I stay in the middle every time :(

Why not? They train just as hard as artistic gymnasts do.

The definition of 'sport' as a term includes entertainment, exercise (physical and mental) and competition - if whatever leisural or professional activity you're occupied with includes these, it may be deemed a sport.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but are those trampolines more bouncy than regular ones, or does it just seem like it because they jump harder than normal?
@elianab.56109 жыл бұрын
Melissa0774 i know you asked this 3 months ago, but i also noticed that there is no reply. The answer is; yes, the trampolines are significantly bouncier that the backyard (black) trampolines. But, the height they are going is still very difficult to achieve.

I don't think ME being able to do it or not has anything to do with it. I mean I love golf and I play that...and that is something I can't call a sport either. There is no insult in that comment. Thinking of something as a sport or not doens't take away from the skill these girls have anymore than the skills Tiger Woods have. Why do you sound so offended by that?
@mrhoffame12 жыл бұрын
I just can't call this a sport lol. I think it's cool, they are very skilled, I couldn't even began to do it, and I like watching it...but I just can't call it a sport or see it as an event lol Congrats to to all the girls though.

It’s extremely difficult and takes a lot of muscle. That’s like saying kicking a ball around a field shouldn’t be a sport or hitting a ball with a stick or throwing a ball into a basket shouldn’t be a sport. It takes serious skill and muscle.

LOL I don't know. It's just one of those weird things. I love golf to death. I play it all the time and look at what the pros do and my jaw is just on the floor with their skill and abilities....still...I can't call golf a sport lol. I don't know why. Some things just hit me that way. Not talking about their skills or abilities at all.

I didn't even know trampoline was an olympic event! At least put Jiujitsu at the olympics because this is less of a sport than jiujitsu is!

This goes beyond stereotyping a country/race. You're dehumanizing roughly 1/3 of the population of the world.
