Unfortunately our India trip didn't ended how we would like it to end. But it was time for us to leave and start a new chapter! India has been INCREDIBLE, this country is so rich in culture, traditions, food and nature. We are excited to come back this year, but for now we are headed to Malaysia and then back to Indonesia. THANK YOU for the incredible memories India!❤️

@thezoldics7648 arey bhaai.. even if they're doing it for the views, that doesn't mean anybody should feel unsafe.. Even Indians themselves feel unsafe to be in Delhi because of this.. Most of them are nice people, but don't normalise that sick mindness by saying "they invited it upon themselves". They were from another country and they didn't know the places.. for once imagine your mother/sister/daughter stuck in such a situation.. Delhi being a capital is in such a state.. it's disappointing. I hope things change for the better..

Thanks for the India videos, my wife and travelled extensively in 2012 from Goa to Kerala to Varanasi finishing in New Delhi. Wow the up and down roller coaster of emotions as you weave through the beauty and chaos of this country is life changing and these travel memories will be etched in your memory forever, good and bad. In fact in the passing of time the bad memories can sometimes be looked on as humorous. You will never be short of conversation about your India travels when you meet other people who have experienced it. My wife and I both struggled with overwhelming masculine energy that is everywhere however travelling in more rural areas we were lucky to meet many Indian women. Last thought was of the special hotel we booked near the airport so we were close to our flight, glass doors opened right onto the highway the brouchure had a large landscaped area photo shopped on the booking ad, monkey in the room when we opened the door and as usual a leaking toilet with the shower in front so you always had wet feet going to the toilet , ah India what an experience.

Because it was a Holi time, somebody might have thrown something or paint but I would not worry much. It can happen to anyone. I live in US and there are some hoods here that make you feel the same way and there are no uncles here showing their concerns to any cab drivers but anyhow looking forward for your another video. I enjoyed watching your video and experiences in India. I love your accent so much … you just remind me of my Irish girlfriend from Mayo.. well that’s back in the 80’s!! I shared the same experience you had in Chandni Chowk.. my wife was indeed very scared with so many people appearing drunk and sleeping on the street. We had just gone there by mistake!! We are excited as we are going to zMumbai in 2 weeks time and would be travelling to Kerala,Goa and Bihar. It was very nice to watch you both. Take care .. kind regards

First i would like to thank you guys to explore India, it was really different to see two girls vlogging in India Alone, the whole series was very good. Now, On the day of Holi festival majority of the neighborhoods are closed so people get drunk especially on the street in that neighborhood and they will throw colors at everyone, you should have asked someone is it okay to go outside on this particular day, you went to chawri bazaar and chandni chowk on Holi, even local girls don't go to neighborhoods on Holi because most of the people are drunk or high and dancing and it goes till noon, from evening it becomes cool again, it is what it is(this craziness only happens once a year on Holi), celebration of Holi depends on which city you are in,like your vrindavan Holi videos were great. I thank god that nothing else bad happened and both of you were safe. I hope you comeback again and this time make some trustworthy Indian friends who can give you some insights so that you stay safe and enjoy.Much love to you and Janine.

I agree. I'm from New Delhi and'll be scared walking down that neighbourhood. We should also reflect and realize these people create a ruckus in the name of a colourful and cheerful festival. Alas, the Kejriwal government has done nothing in this regard but has taken measures to aggravate the situation.

There are good and bad things that happen in every part of this world. I understand how difficult it is to spend time in Delhi especially when you come from foreign lands. We as Indians regret and apologize for any negative experiences you had. However, believe me there are lots of other parts in Delhi and in India where you can feel safe and enjoy the travel. I would recommend you to refer travel blogs and websites that recommend dos and donts before we go to any place. Wishing you happy and safe travels for all your future endeavors

Really sorry for the bad experience you had Susanne. Chandni chowk is the lousiest, overcrowded and majorly male dominated neighbourhood of Old Delhi and for a foreigner women its very unsafe. Even as locals we avoid going to that place with any valuables in our pocket and you visited there near Holi which made it even worse (as mostly people drink a lot on this occasion which leads to loose their mind). Thats why at 11:20 in the video the uncle in black white shirt was asking the rickshaw puller where is he taking you and told him to take good care of you as you are our guest in India. It seems that you were not advised correctly about certain areas of Delhi. You might find certain places as tourist attractions on internet but had you asked any educated local person, he would not have advised you to go over there for sure. Nevertheless, please don't keep any harsh feelings about India. Just inform through a video/post in advance if you ever visit India again. We welcome you again in our country whole heartedly (with obviously a better itinerary😉) Take good care of yourself 🙂

I don't think the neighbourhood was bad. It's the most famous place to visit. It's just the timing was wrong. You were there just after Holi and a lot of creeps were out on the streets drunk as everything is supposed to be closed during festival seasons.

I had similar experiences traveling through entire Europe and some parts of NY city, as well as Baltimore near Washington DC. Therefore I understand your fear as a girl in a foreign country! Do note that travelling in India as a married couple does not ensure safety for the woman. Few days ago, a 28 year old woman of Spanish- Brazilian nationality was raped at knifepoint in front of her husband. In 2013, a Swiss woman was raped while camping with her husband in a forest in Madhya Pradesh state. Six people were ultimately convicted and received life imprisonment. In 2016, an American tourist was drugged and raped in a 5-star hotel in New Delhi. Three men were later convicted in the case. In 2018, a British tourist was allegedly raped while walking to her hotel in Goa. Ramchandran Yellappa, 32, the main suspect who was facing trial, escaped from jail in 2020. These are just the tip of a huge iceberg. Raping a woman in front of her husband gives them extra macho kick, it seems. India recorded over 31,000 cases of crimes against women in 2022, according to an annual report compiled by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB).

India is the state which is on my bucket list yet, no matter whether I have declined my journey in May. I was frightened when I realized that New Delhi has a population more than Moldova - my home country, Roumania, Hungary, and Slovenia, encompassing them together, it remains even another 4 million people. I am quite an experienced traveler when it comes to Europe, but in India or other countries where the density is so high, you shall be prepared mentally much better.

Delhi can be difficult to begin with when you travel to India, if you have never been to India, the best thing is just using it as a flight/train transfer point. India has so much to offer, even if you are a solo traveller. There are however amazing spots to visit situated in less crowded areas of Delhi if you decide to stay 1 or 2 days there (Humayun's Tomb, Lodhi garden, Safdarjung tomb, Agrasen ki baoli). I am Czech living in France and the first time I travelled to India in 2017, it was with my 16-year old daughter. We were accommodated in Paharganj which is definitely not the best area but as it is just next to the New Delhi railway station, from a practical point of view it was easier for us to be able to catch easily our train for other parts of India or the direct metro line to the airport. Since my first travel I have become fluent in hindi and it helps a lot to not being scammed or to get rid off shady people. Last year I was finally back to India after all the covid travel restrictions as a solo female traveller and everything was absolutely fine. It is just better to be prepared in advance and avoid neighborhoods that are too crowded or less developped with bad infrastructure.
