Don't forget Eli has that other gear he can pull out of his hat mid moto that's simply on another level of performance and Eli knows how to use the whole track to his advantage when getting into lappers that simply out smarts everybody and that's Eli's on track Championship winning secrets . . . I like Sexton, Jetson and the whole top ten outdoor pro-moto guys, but Eli with his Championship ways mentioned above is always gonna be regarded as one of the Best of the Best in my old moto eyes. The Tomac’s have a fitness legacy. I was a dirt biker and then also took up mountain biking avidly in 1985 and was reading about John Tomac, and how John Tomac rode motocross bikes to help with mountain biking. Then the son used mountain biking to get fit for dirt bike racing. The 2 sports really cross over, and it’s cool to see them have champions in each sport.

@fatchance1973 Жыл бұрын
Being the best in the sport does not mean you can train or analyse or coach like the best. Look at any professional sport and you will find that the best coaches were not the best players/competitors. Name an all time great coach in any sport that was also an all time great as a competitor . That list is very small, if not non-existent. You are drawing a false equivalency in that only the best riders can either coach or analyse the best.
@Rlobre05 Жыл бұрын
Bro, do you know anything about good coaches? Not a single one of them in any sport were the best at their trade. Being a good coach is much more complicated than being the best at what you do.

Also, idk how educated about the sport you think you are, but even winning one single pro race (example: Brian deegan), is an accomplishment of a lifetime. Brian will tell you how extremely hard it is to win a pro race. And he’s incredible at everything he does. I won every single local race I ever raced. Then I tried the nationals. Still did very well in A class but didn’t take long for me to realize the top guys were in an entirely different league. Think about that buddy.

Then when you look back to the 250's, there was one race where either he or Kenny didn't make the main and then in the main whoever was in it ended up getting back of the pack finish... I think Eli is actually someone that has had bad luck racing and it's everything off the track that has helped him to bounce back. where as the stuff Kenny faced, he probably didn't have the same level of family support around him. great video

And he is comming to race again this year, To DOMINATE. not play with his friends. He will win 6 to 10 races. , and Jett will get hurt As will Sexton, Eli will win the championship by a landslide. Ill bet $10,000 On it now., if the book Bets were out. , hes special, and he will school Jetson , people will see why he is THE or 1 of the best of all time , 2nd in wins all time , amd he will be going after MC. not after a rookie Jett. The sport is elevating, the thing is the riders need to with it. I always wondered why riders don't train in Florida in the humidity and sleep in a altitude tent. Can recover post workout/moto easily at the sea level and overnight you gain the extra capacity being in the lower oxygen environment. Its how they do flash expeditions up Everest in 2 weeks that usually take 2 months. Or do they? 🤐

@@tronmcrae yes for the humidity and good consistent riding weather. Bold to say Eli doesn't do *anything* special. Webb, Ferrandis, Ciancarulo, and even the Yamaha engineers have mentioned how Eli, especially with the throttle, is unique. The Yamaha engineer said he hadn't seen anything like it during testing when Eli went to Star Racing, "full throttle, whole lap". When he hits beast mode he sends it more than any other rider I've seen. Hangtown 2015 was also reministent of Jett, the way he floats around a track. Although Eli might not be able to do that in the same way though due to his shoulders. JS7 mentioned he doesnt think Roczen can get as vertical as Jett on the bike because of his wrist injuries as well, so could be similar. 🤷♂️ Anyhow, gonna be a season to remember.

But you're right and in Roczen's case, I just checked the video again and JS7 was saying Kenny might not be able to get into that same upright body position that is required to ride like Jett, because of his wrists and potential lack of flexibility in that area. Lol frail little wafers. Gotta remember that one. But so true. He has the stamina from being in the high altitude

If it was just altitude everyone would be doing it. Having John and Kathy Tomac's genetics has a lot more to do with it.

He does what he is supposed to do BUT he has plenty special. He finds flows that no one else will ever see. Tell me who else drops their lap time by 4-6 seconds in the last 15 minutes of every Moto? Track gets rougher and he only gets faster while other riders lap times are slower. Jett is obviously in his domain but two different kinds of riding styles. We have seen both work.

125s were slower and lighter of course you can ride them at 100% for an entire moto. I think the guys are fitter now then the 2 stroke era, bikes are faster now so you have to be fitter to ride them as hard as these guys do.

Obviously, you have never raced a national on a 125.

It is in the efficiency, it’s crazy watching guys who are literally over doing it and completely out of the flow. The old way of riding(hanging it out) is a waste of energy. Jett has taken over and smoked everyone by riding smarter. Sadly most of the top riders have insane talent but lack the mental side of the game…. Also the road bike makes people explode when they crash… true that.

"Motocross is not about fitness anymore" I highly disagree, Kenny looks like hes in the best shape of his life. You can't ride a bike at 100% for a half an hour straight being out of shape.

i like the film idea but eli’s main problem has always been getting in his own head, idk if a film crew would be the greatest idea

Sextons done - Jetts unproven on 450 supercross but it’s going to be jett eli hunter majority of podiums I think - sexton rides right on the edge of his ability to keep up with these guys and it shows good thing he has good bones or he’d be completely fucked by now
