This is a well constructed interview and quite balanced except for the last question about how constructive it has been for India and China to do more business with Russia. It seems quite biased because Bremmer did not ask a similar question about how constructive the US’ support of Israel has been with regards to ending the war in the Middle East.

This reporter is asking why democracy and freedoms are not the UNs main concern. Maybe because allowed majority of memebe states to be dictatorships so now we can't make any decisions that promotes democracy and freedom.

As terrible as the death and destruction caused by the war in Gaza, it’s not the only one or the worst one that happened in recent times during the secretary general’s UN leadership. The war on Tigray by Eritrea & Ethiopia, took more lives and caused more destruction, in just two years from November 2020 to November 2022.

Should we wait for another WWIII before the UN security council can be reformed? That's the history of the UN from the League of Nations, no? The logic of rule based law means all should be equal before the law. Logic dictates Veto power cannot work. Antonio Gutierrez is a great outspoken person and I hope he can bring about these changes.

It is my belief that countries should have independent panels of government and non government officials with a cross section of society to give a humanitarian as well as an intellectual influence over the production. No one body should be overseeing this. It's too much power for any one county/body, and let's face it, a small body or even an individual, be that person an gpolitician or a company owner. This can be part of a worldwide united governing body. There are those who will not partake and that need to be addressed deeper here. You cant restrain those who you can reach and allow bad actors free deign. We need the independent body to pave the way forward in the best interest of the whole of humanity.
