H.E JACKSON MANDAGO'S SPEECH
Half of the students who graduated at the Rift Valley Technical Training Institute (RVTTI) today were those sponsored the by County Government of Uasin Gishu.
I was glad to attend the conferring of diplomas and certificates in various disciplines to 1,303 graduants, out of which over 600 were those sponsored by my Government.
My government is keen on churning out skilled personnel, that is why we pay school fee for 600 students at this institution and others each year.
In my speech, I emphasized on the importance of technical institutions in our country. These skills largely contribute to the industrialisation and general transformation of every society.
Also, I reiterated on my vision; that of seeing to it that one day one time, engineers picking up multi-billion infrastructural projects will be products of RVTTI. I want to turn around the general practise that mega projects are awarded to foreign contractors.
For a growing economy, technical personnel can never be avoided. For this reason, I will work to ensure that RVTTI and other crucial technical institutions are not bought off by universities
