Never heard of it either, but a little organization works just as well. The step up rings I have (49 to 82) will last forever. There's no need to to get this gadget if you're already invested in the regular kind.

Richard once again a spectacular video. I usually kit all my lenses with cpl as I shoot mostly outdoors BUT I haven't yet learned how to use a variable ND for video. I assume this is best for very bright sunny days. But I am unclear the advantage? Maybe do a video explaining why that helps.

Yes VND is quite often used for video shooting during the day when you want to bring the shutter speed down to say 1/50s or 1/60s and maintain that even when the lighting changes (by adjustinig the strength of the VND filter) when shooting at between 24fps - 30fps) to give the footage a bit more cinematic look. But of course you can use it for photos too!

What about a lens shade? With that big piece of glass out in front do I have to worry about flare? Is there a lens shade option? As a hobbyist I really like the idea of only needing one polarizer in my camera bag
