In some cases the geometry is deformed or breaks directly, it is usually solved by increasing the substeps. any other tips to solve these problems?

What if you wanted to mix several real cloth objects? I mean, several object hitting other several soft cloth obects?

it seems for the extract transform/transform pieces trick, it doesn't transfer the velocity unless you put a trail sop or attribute transfer on the points generated by the extract transform sop, because it doesn't calculate velocity on its own. then the transform pieces will pick up that velocity and transfer it onto the geometry.

My Shape Match is not working on Linux, when I do all the configuration, the geometry disappears in the second frame! It doesn't give me any mistakes, it just doesn't happen what should happen.

It's broken, unusable. I can't fathom how they added this without testing it.

Houdini sometimes ... or quiet oftend needs the most current Nvidia Studio Driver. After installing it, it just worked fine.

I get the feeling that whatever the process was to create that thumbnail image isn't shown in this video.

Iirc this uses the NVIDIA specific stuff on Linux so this might be a driver issue? On Mac myself, which falls back to a more general openCL path, which is incredibly slow but is working (using shape matching on a simple cloth sphere goes from real-time to 1fps :/).

Honest to said if you want to do some simple dynamics simulation, I think c4d is much easier to use and calculate faster than this tut. It's just my user experience as a c4d user trying to learn Houdini. Just hope houdini can be better and better. :)
@lgab3 жыл бұрын
Yes, some simple dynamics indeed. Once you want to start taking actual control of your results, you'll wish you could dive in to the inner workings of these canned setups, with Houdini, you can, that's the difference.
@hugolin85113 жыл бұрын
@@lgab I agreed. Houdini can do more control than C4D and make stunning visual designs. Sometimes the difference makes me feel struggled. But I still love to learn Houdini.

Can you slow down your narration by 30% and get rid of the "memes"?
@thehasen60373 жыл бұрын
I prefer these fast paced tutorials over slow ones that go over every single slider there is. Much more interesting for more advanced users and I love the memes!
@qozia13702 жыл бұрын
@@thehasen6037 don't lie to yourself. You aren't an advanced user, probably a beginner thinking he is advanced. And the "memes" are really misplaced and doesn't match the video. Poor try of him to act funny.
