H2O Audio swim headphones bone conductor review.

After trying the ‘in-ear’ headphones - I’ve now got out these H2Audio bone conductor headphones to listen to music with.

These seem to be the best headohones for swimmers for 2 main reasons: they firmly fit in place by being attatched to the goggles rubber band and second - great sound quality underwater. I've tried in-ear models, other bone conduction models that attatch with a back clamp....none of them could stay in place during flip turns and even slightest touch with my arm while fromt crawl swimming would easily displace them. I don't mind blutooth at all, I use MP3 player. Thank you for this review!

Thanks for the input. Actually I bought one before watching your video...and that was a mistake as I had not realised that one needed googles to wear the headphones, which I don't, as they are not rigid as the Aftershockz :(

oh no, these are great with goggles, but you are right that you can't wear them without. So great for the way that I use them, but you couldn't wear them for a run etc.

Allrighty, 2+ years of usage daily and they finally broke down. Ordering another pair. Mine has the volume button stuck I guess, as every 5 seconds it switches to the next track and won't allow volume down. So basically unusable. But for a 100$ a year of music it's a fair game ;)

I have been using the Neptune Finis headphones for years now, but with all of the streaming apps I want to be able to pair it with my phone via Bluetooth so that I can listen to pandora. Do you (or anyone in the comments) know how well they work with the Bluetooth from the phone? I read that the signal doesn’t travel through water, so it is recommended that you keep your phone by the edge of the pool. Any info/insight would be greatly appreciated

BT in water is inches. The only way to stream poolside is FM waves. To stream to these phones via BT you basically need a smart watch and clip it right next to them, or a waterproof phone which is impractical Af to attach to the gogled I guess

Thanks for the review. What would happen if you wore ear plugs at the same time? Also, I guess a cap wouldn't fit on top?

A cap will fit over no problem. Also you could wear ear plugs and they would work.

I now use the bone conductor headphones all the time, I just never need to adjust them, so the sound is consistent.

the in-ears models if they don't fall out due to the stream of water always tend to let the water in and the sound disappears, the models with cushions made of silicon and closed for water are also closed for the sound and the sound appears muffed; these are just great to my taste

Can You use them out the water? I don't get how they would be holded in the head without the cap.

It would be tricky, You need the goggle strap to hold them against the cheek bone.

Nice cover of theses headphones, any idea whether the music can be easily heard/is disruptive to anyone nearby? On the edge of buying a pair myself, but I am limited to swimming in public pools and don't want to disturb others.

I literally have been googling this question and haven't found anything, I do laps at a public pool but don't want anyone else to hear my music...haha

music is audible in a quiet room, but not in the swimming pool definitely. only you will hear it

these allow uploading your mp3 files using your PC, I think spotify does not allow downloading music as mp3's on your laptop/pc.

For the bone conductor headphones, I don't use the Apple Watch, I just downloaded music onto the MP3 part of the headphones.

Radio waves of high frequency cannot travel in water, so anything Bluetooth will not work reliably under water no matter what they might tell you. I ordered myself these after playing around with the Sony swim headphones. Can’t wait to test them.

@@Cryptotd95 Haha. Perfect for swimming. At first I was confused by the default shuffle mode but it can be turned off by double clicking the play button (not mentioned in the manual). Otherwise a very good device and you can totally focus on swimming, no worries about water leaking or them falling out. I actually ordered a second player for a friend of mine as a present. Very satisfied with it. And I did not have issues with it disconnecting from my Mac, just don’t shuffle it around when it’s transferring music.

It’s disappointing that the options for swimming headphones is this 20+ year old tech solution in waterproof version, the idea of transferring individual songs seems prehistoric. Or the other option the H2O swimming interval headphones, which are wired headphones connected to the apple watch and seems a total bodge, with the watch not even being worn in the way its designed to be worn. Thanks for the informative videos but I am hoping for some wireless headphones that can connect to the apple watch and actually work underwater.
