Not a fan of ellen myself since maybe 5 years ago i was home for school and the show was on, and they had this segment where the audience could try impress everyone with a party trick, and she brought up a woman who claimed to be able to do multiple backflips in a row, and she was so excited and nervous, cut to the chase, she couldn't land one, kept landing on her head, up to the point i was worried she was hurting herself all the while ellen is betating her and eventually just said something along the lines of "well this is getting ridiculous" and the girl ran off the stage in tears" and I was actually disgusted that they aired it, literally felt so humiliated for the woman. So yeah I'm with you guys, i don't get her.

That item alone for that person is for free. An additional item has to be purchased. This is simple to understand. What you are doing is twisting the facts to fit your narrative. There are degrees of theft and what she did is not that bad and definitely didn't deserve ellen's shaming but it's not the moral thing to do. A clear evidence to that is that she is the only one that did it. Imagine if everyone took more than one item because "all the items on the table are free" it will be a significant sum of money in earnings lost. And possibly not all the audience would have gotten their gift item.

Yes, proving ones innocence or guilt is definitely one important thing, but another one is serving justice by giving a punishment that fits the crime. I don't argue she's innocent, what I argue (together with Ethan here) is that the punishment is far to exaggerated and this whole thing is blown way out of proportions. Imagine someone stealing a car and getting a death sentence. If something i wrong with the system it's that.

Lol, her case would be thrown out and Ellen could counter sue easily. The girl stole, plain and simple. And when you're on a show like this, you know you're being filmed, so you know there's a damn good chance you could be filmed anywhere else besides the main stage. She absolutely got what she deserved, that being embarrassed in front of millions for committing a crime and knowing she was in the wrong the whole time. Just because this isn't textbook justice under the law doesn't mean justice wasn't served and it doesn't mean the punishment didn't fit the crime.

Actually Ellen is quite egotistical and mean-spirited when the cameras are off. It's kind of a tight lipped secret among the people who have had experience working for/with her. I know a couple of them personally. It's not out in the open because of her perceived public image that she has built through the show and her public appearances. By that I don't mean she's a *horrible* person in real life, but she's definitely nowhere near as nice as she portrays herself to be. Another annoying (and sort of diabolical) thing is that, despite being a successful multi-millionaire beloved celebrity, she still never misses to play the oppressed-lesbian card any chance she gets. As if life is still so difficult for her because she's gay. Watch her Netflix special and you'll have an idea.
