I just got this box. There's no display option in settings, at least not on my box. I read similar complaints in some forums that some people do not have a display settings. It sounds like some of the boxes do and some don't depending on the seller.

I upgraded to 7.1 and have had no problems at all. I will mention that you need to use a Micro SD card that is a Max of 32 GB, anything higher will not work because the unit does not recognize anything higher that 32GB, I found out the hard way due to no mention of this in the video.

Great Reviews, I am trying to decide between this updated box and the m8s pro 4k with the 3gb ddr4 Ram... Which box do you prefer?... I am getting this for my parents as well. My father likes to save things from the hallmark/bravo live channels to a thumb drive and take them on trips for my Mother to watch. Would one of these be better than the other for that? I kind of like the user interface on the H96, but if the m8s comes with better codec compatibility & or support then I may still go with it. I don't even know how much difference the ddr3 vs 4 would make, so that may not be a factor. I also got a rii i8+ remote. This will be my first tv box, but I am decently computer savvy.

Hi, between these two boxes, performance wise there is not much noticeable difference. Both boxes are great, they both have great specs and interface. DDR4 is supposed to be faster than 3 but in real time usage i cant tell the difference. Build quality is more or less the same. So the only thing separating them is the homescreens. I actually like the mecool home screen better but I know many other who like the H96 better. This is a tough one to choose because they are the same. Stability wise, the h96 gave me some minor issues like it could not render or play jurassic world lego, when you play the game you get a black screen. where as the M8S has had no trouble playing any game or app. So my choice would be M8S. Hope this helps.

Yes you can use external subs and TV boxes will only over heat by prolonged gaming. Streaming will never cause any heat issues.

Kamran Farooqui Don't buy the Yundoo Y8, as other reviewers have found that TV Box may have fantastic specs, but because of the low level Android version on that, I think it was V5, it performs terrible especially the 4K playback, it's laggy as hell, and loads of Apps do not install, and play, on this TV Box, so go for the H96 Max 100%.

Both of these units have software issues, causing intermittent lag and freezes now and then. It will be resoled in a future update and when that is available I will make a video on it.

Looking at your Benchmark board, Isn't the H96 Max better than H96 Pro Plus? They both look good to me But H96 MAX seems to be more future proof? I was wondering if that box could be upgraded to 7.1 software - potentially eliminating the intermittent lag & Freezing issues? Almost near to making the purchase...thx.

That's exactly what i'm waiting for. When 7.1 arrives in either Y8 or Max those 2 boxes will become the best. They are very powerful boxes and they boot up in like 6 seconds. So the power is there to see and feel, everything works on it fine, except some KZbin issues and some apps are not compatible. Future update will sort it all out. If you want something that immediately works well with no issues then H96 Pro + with 7.1 update is a good option and there are many others like YokaTV and M8S Pro.

They are both amazing TV boxes. They have more or less the same specs but the X92 has better performance and also better build quality and faster wifi. H96 comes with 7.1. I would go with X92.

My question is : is it fine to shutdown (not standby) device from remote control. will it use power when shutdown. as you know there is no power button on device i just want to turn off the device using remote control instead of unplug adapter every time. does it has impact on device lifetime (Most of devices like TV sets use some power and IC light on when power off using remote control). Just switch it off from mains, thats what I do. Otherwise, wifi and everything continues to operate in the background even on standby mode.

If you have this issue, I recommend installing APPTOIDE APP here is a tutorial: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nIaZhGqAo7pojqc Then find the youtube app within Apptide and open it, then click on choose other versions and install the old version of youtube and you will have a fully working youtube again. Or alternative just do a factory reset and you will back to normal again.
