All went well, and i thank you very much. Only glitch was my using a 64gb sd card, apparently. Got to Recovery mode but would not upgrade. Switched to a 16gb card, FAT32 vs exFAT, and baddabing baddaboom, good to go. The card only used 1.62gb so you could get by with a 2-4gb card in all liklihood. Thanx again!

Well, followed these instructions & it resulted in a bricked H96 pro+, so be wary of upgrading. I wish I'd not bothered & just stuck to Android 6.0. Thanx Britec09 for helping me ruin my H96 pro+

Hi after following all of the instructions the little green robot came and said upgrading good so far 3/4 of the way got a red x on Mr robot and now have a dead box . I used a 16gb fat 32 micro sd. Any idea what happen?

Bnt amigo. Tenho 1 box tv H96 PRO+ ALFAWISE que so fica travado na tela H96 PRO+. Ja tentei dar 1 reset pelo botão, mas abre tela H96 PRO+ se continuo apertando, fica tela escura e não mostra opções pra restaurar, formatar etc. Nesse caso, não é necessário o curto, pq o botão t´ativo, mesmo assim deu o curto, mas o PC NÃO RECONHECE o driver AnLogic e dá mensagem: " O Windows não pode verificar o editor desse software de driver", e por isso NÃO tô conseguindo flashar a rom e ou nem reparar . Usei Win 7 x64 e x86 e Win 10 x64, em todos mesmo problema. Pode me ajudar, por favor? Obrigado

Great job on this video, worked ok for me, but this box has wifi issues, the only reason i updated to nougat 7.1 was to see if it would fix my wifi problems and it does not, mine will connect to wifi for three minutes then cut out for 10 minutes before connecting again, updating firmware was my last hope for this box, bought it from banggood, as i said in another h96 pro plus video, just about ready to bin this box.

Michael Connolly make sure that you insulate the antenna if it hasn't been wrapped so nothing shorts out there's a capacitor you can jam the antenna wire next to to hold it in place worked for me when shipped the antenna is on top of the wifi module just killed the signal. your case might be superglued together so be careful when pulling apart small flathead screwdriver works well just don't bend or break the tabs you'll be fine when putting back together if your box overheating order raspberry pi cooling kit with fan works great stays room temp after installing kinda of reminds of the Xbox 360 so much mods an shit for lil box lol good luck

Thanks for the advice, as it happens when it is on 5ghz wifi it only has one bar, but it seems to be working ok without cutting out as much as the 2.4hz. so i will leave it alone for now, but it is good to have a back up plan ready to go if this starts to cut out again, thank you Garrett.

That is what all the instructions says regarding the reset button, but my box alfawise H96 pro plus 3gb 32gb did not upgrade using this procedure because as soon I release the reset button after the upgrade screen appears and starts the upgrade the screens turns black after 3 seconds and get a no signal on screen. After several attempts using this procedure then I tried keeping the reset button pressed all the way untill all the update (green line) went all the way and it switched off to reboot and managed to get an update

QUESTION - My H96 Pro Plus with Android 6.0 is stuck i9n Android Recovery menu. To recover, I believe I have to select !Install update from EXT" and than select SD Card card. I have downloaded Android 7.1. Do I have to burn this to the SD card using the software you mentioned or do I simply have to transfer the unzipped image to the card if it is stuck in the recobery menu and will not boot to home screen? I've the same model h96 pro plus which I bought recently, but due to some error it got stuck in the boot loop. Continously got the MBOX logo. I tried factory reset through recovery but that doesn't make any difference, just to ask you that if I overwrite this rom on my device does it work. I've a doubt coz it is showing the version 01/06/2018. Wich is latest and Android 7.1.2. Plz help me getting out of it.

matthew conacher try keeping the reset button pressed during all the update process. Same happened to me and managed to make an upgrade by keeping the reset button pressed during the whole process in till it reboots

Nice write up, but make sure you use a 32GB or less SD Card, using FAT32. I tried at first using a 64GB using exFAT, and it would not work.

Hi. Where did you find the RAM settings? Did you use an app? My box was supposed to ship with 7.1 installed but it came with 6.0. The box is newly arrived so I want to make sure they shipped 3GB / 32GB model before I do any work.

I get the android recovery screen every time I try to do this. I'm holding the reset button then plug in power but it never goes to the updating screen. Everything else went perfectly for each step but it just doesn't seem to want to boot from the micro sd. Any ideas?
