My name is George McCart, I worked at FADAL from 1984 to 1996, in the early part of the '90's FADAL was # 1, I was proud to work at FADAL at that time and from time to time I over heard the owners Adrian, Dave, and Larry joking about the Haas machine, as I was very saddened to hear FADAL had closed their doors I couldn't help thinking of those times , and thinking, who's laughing now. Many props to Gene Haas, his vision was much larger then the de Caussin's. I left FADAL about a year after Giddings and Lewis purchased the company and I just want to say I am so impressed with the Haas manufacturing plant! WOW!!! I am very familiar with the Haas machine, and if you ask me, Haas is # 1 machine in it's market share. You just can't beat a Haas!

Haas machines are throw away machine tools and not the real deal. Their lathes Have nothing on Nakamura Tome and I can wipe the floors with haas on a Fanuc Robodrill.

Justin Hogan mmmm...you could hand build chairs from carbon fiber and titanium. But, from an engineering perspective the laws of diminishing returns apply. If a basic quality chair will work, why not use it? Ego? There is a good reason Haas has the market share they do. The gray beards of industry know what a good ROI is. They are smart enough not to spend thier time on silly Ford verses Chevy fan boy arguments. We use 6 Haas machine all day, work in .0001. which is more the insert than the machine these days. We do tight tolerance Stainless shafts all day. Our well valued Haas machines get the job done, and leave us some cash to bring home. Why would I buy more??? I also would not by a Rolls when an Audi will do the job. My view is an issue of value, and not too interested in using a machine tool to clean floors. I'll just buy a mop. Cheers

I'm a machinist and have been working on CNC lathes for years here in Australia. My new employers have talked about replacing the oldest Mazak's in the workshop soon and I will be strongly suggesting to them to have a good look at Haas. Have never worked on one but would love to! Looks like quality and customer satisfaction sounds like number one priority there at Haas. Keep up the good work guys! BTW, awesome videos! Keep them coming! ;o)

Haas has drastically improved over the last 20 years. It's a Quick Wake-Up when an OLD Haas throws a 3" diameter shell mill at 2,000 RPM ************ Spin-Boom, rattle rattle rattle ***************** I can also attest to the positive protection provided by the Haas machine guards.....I haven't been killed YET. When that system was installed in 2006, it was the largest linear pallet pool system of its kind in North America - part of a massive investment in new equipment that year. But of the 300 metal cutting machines in the Haas factory, 75% of them are Haas machines, as can be seen in the video. Haas Automation uses the finest machine tools in the world to make parts for Haas machines, and in many cases, those are Haas machines. However, we do use machines from other manufacturers - Japanese, German, Swiss, and others - simply because we do not build those types of machines.

Where can I find final prices of the machines (including shipment, installation and Training to operators). Jake Fischer Your new Haas machine most definitely will be wrapped - all machines are - and probably will be “left outside in the yard” for a short time before it is shipped. As shown in the video, every new Haas machine is carefully wrapped in plastic sheeting, sealed in a protective barrier bag, and then wrapped again. Desiccant is placed inside the machine prior to wrapping to absorb any moisture that may accumulate during shipping. This process takes place in a dedicated packing area that is completely covered. Finished machines are staged in the “yard” prior to shipping, but only briefly. Most machines are on trucks or in containers on their way to their final destinations within a few days. Haas currently builds roughly 60 machines per day, and ships around the same amount each day. At present, nearly all Haas machines are built to order, so as soon as they’re completed, they’re on their way to the customer. One of the primary reasons the Haas factory is located in Oxnard, California, is because the area’s moderate climate allows us to store materials - and, yes, machines - outside, with little worry about inclement weather.

Comparing price to quality, I think Haas is more superior than other big boys.

EA Bayuaji that's what I thought too, but lately, I'm not so sure. If I buy a vf3 for example, put a bunch of bells and whistles on it like p cool, chip conveyor... it will be maybe 100 grand after all said and done. A okuma genos 560 is worth like 120/130 grand. I believe it comes standard with some bells and whistles you gotta pay for in the haas. Plus, it's a better machine in areas including performance.

Like all american companies the greed overcomes the pride of truly and actually making something completely in the U.S. Quality is another issue with their spindles not running true and not very rigid for machining materials other than aluminum or plastics.Like stated before it's a "throw away" cnc.
