One more comment please. It is true that women and men have a dress code in Islam and we follow it because it is the orders of Allah. What you want to dress is your business and no ones else business. Nothing you can dress can justify any kind of harassment from a man, simply because in Islam Allah ordered men not to stare/look at women specially those who are "violating" the dress code. So no one can blame a girl for the way she dress, he should have simply looked the other way if he wanted.

Miroslava, Al Salam Alykom, I guarantee you that everything you mentioned that you get in the west Muslim women get in Islam, but sadly not from Muslims. This is the core message Sheikh Habib Ali was trying to pass, and it is true. Islam is perfect but Muslims are not. I urge you to please read more about women rights in Islam, but please do not learn it from what Muslims do, because most of what they do in bad treatment is cultural, not religious, and have nothing to do with Islam (Quran and Prophet teachings). Few fast examples, Do you know that a Muslim woman have the right to ask for any compensation from the man and she can put any condition she likes in her marriage certificate i.e. the right to work, she can hold the power of divorce... etc. Do you know that the first university that accepted women was established by a Muslim woman in the year 841 in Morocco where she taught others, that woman name is Fatima Muhammad Al-Fihri and please read about her. While in the west it was not until 1821 when women were allowed to enroll in universities and not until 1000 year later (1841) women were allowed to teach in universities. Do you know that in Islamic law a woman is not required to clean her own house or even to cook her own food ? it is the man responsibility to bring her COOKED food not raw. Do you know that in Islamic law the man have no right the wealth or financials of his wife? Please read about Islam and do not learn it from Muslims, because from what I see WE Muslims need to read more just like you. Sorry if I mad it long for you.

If he (the victim) be of a people hostile unto you, and he is a believer, then (the penance is) to set free a believing slave." 23:5-6 "And who guard their modesty - Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess." 24:31 "And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest, and to display of their adornment only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils over their bosoms, and not to reveal their adornment save to their own husbands or fathers or husbands' fathers, or their sons or their husbands' sons, or their brothers or their brothers' sons or sisters' sons, or their women, or their slaves." 24:58 "O ye who believe! Let your slaves, and those of you who have not come to puberty, ask leave of you at three times (before they come into your presence)." 33:25-26 "Allah repulsed the disbelievers in their wrath; they gained no good. Allah averted their attack from the believers. Allah is ever Strong, Mighty. And He brought those of the People of the Scripture who supported them down from their strongholds, and cast panic into their hearts. Some ye slew, and ye made captive some. 33:50 "O Prophet! Lo! We have made lawful unto thee thy wives unto whom thou hast paid their dowries, and those whom thy right hand possesseth of those whom Allah hath given thee as spoils of war." 33:55 "It is no sin for them (thy wives) to converse freely) with their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their brothers' sons, or the sons of their sisters or of their own women, or their slaves."

And waking up for Fajr with an alarm clock, is a means to wake up for Fajr, thats not Bidah, because its not a sanctioned act of worship, DHIKR Is a sanctioned act of worship, you can do it, sitting, standing, walking, sleeping, but its is NOT from Islam, to be in a group circle, saying Allahoo Allahoo, This is evil misguidance. Some matters are clear, and some matters the prophet (peace be upon him) left with uncertainty, hence the reason why there are madhabs and differences of opinions. But on the matter of bidah, the prophet was clear. He did clarify that his statement "Every innovation is misguidance" was a general statement by the other hadith "whoever invents a good practice..."
